Yeah, and haven´t you noticed that, except from the Christmas period, Adele´s 19 only leaves the catalog chart #1 when a celebrity dies?FliplovesMC wrote:Is it me or are the coincidences with Adele's stats a little crazy, I mean, her album 21 is about spend its 21st week at 1 this week, breaking the record of Whitney Houston's album, a week after Whitney's death. Speaking of which Whitney's GH just supplanted Adele's 19 from the Top Catalog Albums Chart and I'm assuming these 2 albums will be 1 and 2 for the rest of the year.
Another one I just read today, she is renting a home worth 7million pounds and 21 is about to cross 7million copies this week....ok that one not as crazy, it's still a kind of a coincindence
Aah - slight bug in the spreadsheet - about a dozen albums were without totals. I've corrected the chart now in the original post and SuBo is #25. Thanks for spotting.SLiM wrote:oldbloke, if you have time could you please tell me why Susan Boyle Someone To Watch Over Me isn't on the list through week 13 because I thought only her first 2 weeks counted toward last year's Billboard year end chart and therefore all the rest which I figured should be about 300,000 should count toward this year.
Thank you!

Mods, please notice. Flaming.Euromillions wrote:thebigham wrote:^Why don't you go look at the 2011 thread?Hmmm...I'm getting the impression I'm not exactly your favourite poster at the moment. Here's hoping you can get an Adele prediction at least half right at some stage this year, lol.
PS Have you apologised to Timmy94 yet? You know, for accusing him of posting nonsense when he suggested sales of 500k for '21' whereas your attempt was IIRC 250-300k
This situation is so interestingoldbloke wrote:50 - 64,083 - TEENAGE DREAM - Katy Perry

Thanks Lehmann - that's fixed now!!Lehmann wrote:

That's 2011 release
Yes, Adele is no doubtly going to have the best seller for 2 consecutive years. Since Billboard cuts off their tracking year by the end of November, the Christmas albums have no chance of taking the crown. Not like they posed a threat anyhow ...Mulvanaghty wrote:Is it to early to predict that Adele will have the #1 selling album in the United States and Worldwide with "21" for 2012?
If this is true, I think it will be the first time an artist has had the #1 album for two consecutive years with the same album since Michael Jacksons Thriller in 1983 and 1984.
In fact, because more precise records are not available and so it is difficult to determine, Michael Jackson may not of had the #1 album of 1984, it may have been Prince who shipped 9 million copies of his Purple Rain album by the end of 1984 just in the United States.
But it also demonstrates that, sales-wise, this album is the 'Thriller' of its era.WolfSpear wrote:Note how it's the only one after 2005. That's quite sad.
