I still can't believe that this is the end for Whitney. Life's so unfair sometimes.

What Becomes Of The Brokenhearted, as made famous by Jimmy Ruffin ~ it was dropped from The Bodyguard after it was learned Paul Young had also recorded the song for another film, Fried Green Tomatoes. It was Kevin Costner who suggested Whitney record I Will Always Love You instead ...Dino wrote:anyone know the name of the other break up song that was picked to be the lead single before "I will always love you" changed all that??
I hope that song leaks on the internet.
Madonna may have not been one of the 1,500 guests at Whitney Houston's Newark, NJ funeral on Saturday, but the blonde singer still held an impromptu memorial of her own for the late star.
On Friday night, Madonna, 53, hit up NYC hotspot Mister H in the Mondrian Soho hotel, where she showed up with a large group of her background dancers.
"Madonna was sitting down, watching as her dancers showed up their skills," a source tells Us Weekly. "When the DJ began to spin Whitney Houston's 'I Wanna Dance with Somebody,' Madonna perked up and started lip-synching the words.
The "Like a Prayer" singer along with Houston and the late Michael Jackson were among the biggest pop stars in the '80s.
The source adds that when the star, who donned an all-black ensemble and a black-rimmed hat, realized her private area cut off a majority of the dance floor, she was seen chatting with security to give her crew a smaller space so everyone in the club would be able to have a place to dance.
"I Wanna Dance with Somebody (Who Loves Me)" was Houston's fourth consecutive number one single and won her the Best Female Pop Vocal Performance at the 1998 Grammy Awards.

I can't wait for the toxicology report comes out. It really appears to be an allergic or bad reaction on top of other health problems.forza wrote:I am quite late now, but I would like to say something.
I feel sorry that the music lost another big talent with the help of drugs. Amy Winehouse, Kurt Cobain and even MJ just show us how terrible drugs are and how being cool and trying the drugs can lead to fatal ending. I miss Whitney very much, because her voice was what I've always dreamt of in a singer. Mariah is miles away from what Whitney was. Whitney now, I believe, lives in a better world, with no sins and drugs where she can sing her fantastic songs!
RIP to one great talent. And icon - Whitney Houston

I agree.. she always sang live and she always changed parts of the phrasing or melody.. every live performance was epic in her prime.TIfan wrote:^^^ LOL..... Whitney will go down in history like Lauryn Hill said. She will have the legacy Billie Holiday had. One of those voices that will inspire generations to come and will never be reached. I think when it comes to live performances, Whitney was the greatest vocalist of all time. She always held back on her albums because I guess they wanted her to cross over. Besides singing, she made the crowd feel like they were part of the performances and she was a monster on stage. One of the greatest performers ever too imo. I'm still hurting. The queen is gone.
