Why do Boybands ruin everything?

They're over-rated, can barely sing most times and get the hell outta praise when they churn
out sub-par stuff year after year.

Westlife. whatever number of hits....they didn't get those hits because they where good it was the flock of females buying everything coz it was them. Their wins at record of the year where another awful example.

JLS. I mean if a girl band churned out crap like Do you feel what i feel, club is alive do you think it'd
go number 1? The quality of their albums has decreased year on year. Beating FFTL (the biggest BRITISH selling single of that year was unforgivable).

Mcfly. Countless versions of the same CD to rig the charts getting constant number 1's back in the year
with any old song just coz it's them.

One Direction. This hysteria all over the world is INSANE. They're clearly provoking and hoping for it
to continue. Cowell must be rubbing his hands with al the thought of that money. The song the UK loved this year was SOMEONE LIKE YOU no doubt about it, but thanks to multi voting and multiple accounts 1D won. They can release any old crap at this point and it'll do well. I just don't get it.

BOYBANDS are the reason why we don't have record of the year any more. Boybands continue collecting
this Best single thing the JLS and 1D wins are disgusting. I'm just glad Girls aloud won the year they did if they had been up against a boy band they would have lost. Record of the year became pointless thanks to Busted, mcly and westlife and i guarnatee 1D and JLS would have won if it was still on today. What pointlessness.

Whilst all this ridiculous praise for boy bands selling all these records, despite some abysmal albums - JLS anyone their last two albums was very poor, the girl band isn't embraced as much. Females must be buying those records just cause they like those bands its ridiculous but girl bands have to be creative and amazing to succeed in this industry.
If Girls Aloud hadn't been producing SUCH amazing stellar pop they would have never been successful. The same with Sugababes.

I mean look at the Saturdays three TERRIFIC singles for their last album and their flopped big style, same with Sugababes. If they where boy bands those albums would have sold 200k plus. Ridiculous. I do think Take That deserve some praise not the massive amount they get but some for some decent songs and albums that are well written and well spaced out. Record of the year was so fun but thanks to boybands its ruined and not on anymore. ITV even said it was pointless. The best song wasn't winning, not the song of all the year but boyband constantly. i know atomic kitten, spice girls, girls aloud and sugababes are success stories but they had to be amazing to get that. As mel c said 'you could release any old tripe and it'd sell''.

If Leona was a boy she would have won her Brit for best single. Who's looking forward to the 2012 JLS, 1D and The Wanted albums - i bet they're already finished. JLS's last album was abysmal i'm glad they didn't get their number 1 - it was POOR.

Sexist :p

For me, it varies greatly, I think 'What Makes You Beautiful' and 'One Thing' are fantastic pure pop songs. I however hate the way One Direction is marketed. I have no issues with how The Wanted are marketed as they aim a bit older... as for the others mentioned, they didn't have big careers over here, so I can't comment

I think as long as you have tween girls flushed with hormones you will always have boys forming bands. :P

Also why are boybands so smug. They have smug looks on their faces like HA HA WE HAVE THESE FEMALES UNDER OUR TRANCE...our bank balances are gonna grow.

When Girls Aloud won their Brit it was literally beautiful. It was such an amazing moment for that group because they never released a bad song, worked like crazy to make that band a success, released nothing but great singles and music for six years, selling lots of record and growing on everyone over time.

One Direction win a Brit after just one year. Somehow the comparison isn't fair. Olly is very much the same, selling out arena's and all that. The Saturdays last album was amazing but somehow it wasn't bought alot by people.

Not being sexist here, but why do females do THIS. Stop feeding these boybands. It's clearly all over the world because it was embarassing how on Ellen random females who didn't know who they where where pining over them going crazy. And they how embarassing trying to get attention by holding their hands. Abit desperate!
CRINGE http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O_aY4Y9sMIg
PS Max, at the end you talk about 'having fun' obviously trying to hype up females thinking they have a chance quite clever really - you're getting married to Michelle Keegan right?

The single most deserved win the Brit history. Girls Aloud. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LoE4Xmh_V-E

I agree. I always think of this when they are in the charts. It's not sexism, if they all had great talent I wouldn't really hate.

JLS can sing averagely at best aoart from the spoken artist JB. They dance average too. Why are the so successful when their music is so uninspired and pathetic. They could of at least put some effort into that side of it.

Mc Fly, ugh repeating the same song over and over again.

The worst is One Direction, some of them have talent. But the hysteria is unneccesary, none of them are as talented as even Matt Cardle...

Just like female singers and bands are successful because of gays. Not all of them are talented but yet you see them successful.

Don't see it from your angle. I wouldn't generalize it that most of them are bad, but there are some good boybands with good songs actually.

The difference is the hysteria level and the ease that MASSES of them can score mega hits with little to no talent. Look at the polar opposite, girl bands, successful ones are few and far between I mean wow, TLC, DC, The Supremes, Spice Girls, Girls Aloud (EU) but boybands they're a dime a dozen and all managing to get mega hits. It has only gotten worse since X factor etc.

do you remember when Backstreet and N'Sync were huge? I knew more gays into them in 1999 than Britney. Britney didn't really get big with gays until about her third or fourth album, before that people saw her as a new Debbie Gibson

How are boybands to blame for girlbands doing badly? :-? Huh? Seriously.

And Record Of The Year is a joke, NOBODY takes it seriously. Why are you worrying so much about a silly award that means nothing? I don't even remember the last time anybody took ROTY seriously

Are you saying GA won Record Of The Year? Cos I don't think they ever did :-? Unless you meant the Brit Award for Best Single, cos they did win that one.

And boybands do well cos they have the teenage girl fanbase for it. What else is there to say, really? As a former teenage girl myself (I'm 24 now), I can see why the girls go crazy for the boybands! Blue and Five are two of my all time favourite bands, they were the biggest UK boybands of the 1998 - 2005 period.

And they haven't always done well, they're coming back to prominence now (surprisingly, I thought they were dead for good), but 2005 to about 2010 was a dead period for the boyband, there were hardly any! Girlbands ruled then.

To me, it just seems you hold a grudge about boybands for some reason :-?
One for the money, two for the show, I love you honey, I'm ready ready to go...

Sadly, while there are always teenage girls there will always be sh*t boybands.

Record Of The Year used to be such a good show, but it became a complete joke thanks to Westlife and Busted. They should have introduced a jury element like with Eurovision to count for half of the score.

I dont really get the point of this thread. crap solo 'artists' bother me a lot more than bands tbh. and theres a hell of a lot of rubbish solo acts both male AND female AS WELL. even thou I Ive never in my life listened to none of the above mentioned bands (some I havent even heard of) and the likes, so I cant comment on their music, but I still find it kinda funny that so many ppl are complaining about some acts getting too much praise, being overrated, poor vocal skills and lack of talent on a site that is dominated by Britney and Rihanna fanatics.

I see where you are coming from also. I really do think it is just the level of hysteria these boybands create that irks people. I mean yes Rihanna and Britney are megastars but these boysbands 'fame' is taken to another level. The same can be said for the likes of Justin Beiber.

What makes them annoying isn't the fact they are successful, everyone in the music industry who has an ounce of talent deserves an attempt at a career, it's just they become so enormously overrated in such a small period of time you'd think they were gods. The worst 'proof' of this is everytime X factor rolls around we get that VT before *said act* comes on listing all their achievements when in reality the majority of them have nothing much to brag about.

Boybands get a lot of undeserved hate just because they're boybands. I love a lot of boybands and I think their music can actually be pretty good. *NSYNC, Jonas Brothers, The Wanted, One Direction, and JLS come to mind when I think of good boybands.

There are like 3 popular boybands at the moment, get over yourself guys!!
You still have plenty of females to fangirl over, what's the problem?

p.s. JLS's last album was their best album so far. Bye!

:o Get a grip. And get over it, seriously!! 8-)

How did you just spend that much time writing 18 paragraphs about how much you don't like all the boybands :(

The real "problem" is not the bands themselves anyways. It's the girlfans!
