The forecast is looking cloudy for B.o.B. The Atlanta musician has selected a title for his sophomore album.

Fresh off performing in front of President Obama at a fundraiser in Los Angeles, Bobby Ray caught a flight back to ATL. He appeared on V103?s “The Ryan Cameron Show” on Tuesday, where he revealed Strange Clouds as the title. “‘Strange Clouds’ is the first single off of my sophomore album, actually titled Strange Clouds,” he announced.

The project, which serves as the follow-up to his Grammy-nominated debut B.o.B Presents: The Adventures of Bobby Ray, is preceded by the single of the same name featuring Lil Wayne. The song went to iTunes on Tuesday and has already cracked the top 5.

He explained how the collaboration with Tunechi came together. “Wayne actually got on it pretty quick. It was a quick turnaround,” he shared. “We were kind of debating on it, but we just felt like this was the song that should go first. I feel really strong about it and I like to take my time with music.”

Jim Jonsin has also been in the studio with B.o.B, and opened about one of the reggae-flavored tracks they recorded called “Rule the World.” “One record has like a reggae vibe to it, hip-hop with some reggae,” the producer told Rap-Up.com. “It’s pretty big. I think that’s a possible single.”

I like Wayne's rap on Strange Clouds, but I'm not liking his new persona. I thought he was great before, but this new rapper who says "bitch" every 5 seconds is kind of a turn off.

I understand you, but i have not come to the point where it turns me off like you. I still think his album will be way more mature lyrically than Drake's! I guess Strange Clouds is just this big uptempo Hip-Hop song, where they have to spit some shit you know!

I don't know if So Good has been higher during the day, but it was #5 on US iTunes like 9 hours ago, and it's currently #4 there! :) It's a great start, but the digital sales might be short lived for now (Until it hopefully smashes radio), so i don't want to be too happy about it yet!

I think Strange Clouds could debut at No. 3 with ~ 150k behind Nicki Minaj's new album released the same week (600k?) and Adele's 21 (200k?) on the Billboard 200...

Isn't Nicki's album released nearly a month before B.o.B's?

Sorry, just noticed that there's been a mistake on Wikipedia... I took the release dates from the release schedule and they had April 1 for B.O.B. instead of May 1...
With this, I think he could be No. 2 behind Carrie Underwood (250k?)...

I think her last album went double platinum. Has her airplay support fallen since then? If not i expect her to debut bigger then 250k, but i don't know much about her, and i haven't seen her debut numbers, so maybe i'm wrong  Though i don't think he can battle with someone like Carrie who seems like an album seller  I think your prediction of #2 might be right :) Though it's hard to know how big he will debut sales-wise. I think it might be hard for him to debut with more than 150k, though it will be interesting to see if a solo smash without a feature for him (So Good) will show off more help for the album than Nothin' On You & Airplanes did...

Carrie is a consistent, multi-platinum COUNTRY singer with a song currently in the top 10 and will soon be building in country airplay.

There's not a chance in hell BOB would outsell her (unless the God of Adele comes to his side lol)

But he should be able to do 150K to 200K (norm for rappers of his fame and type of music) with huge declines in the following weeks.

I just hope they have a plethora of music on this album, some of which appeals to the urban masses more than usual and a promotion plan of at least 6 months.

Kids like B.O.B. and Cudi tend to debut well and trail off hugely without effort for the following 6 months.
"Take A Bow"... Rihanna's ONLY ballad to go #1 on the Hot 100 (also topped the R&B Chart)... Great deed for her most epic ballad!!!

a 200k debut would be great, but i would be a bit surprised to see that happen considering the last album sold something like 550k right? And that was with a few massive hits. Though those hits had features, and singles from this era might sell the album better to urban listeners than the singles from the last album

^^ it wouldn't surprise me! Wale, J.Cole, Cudi and several other rappers did so with little more than buzz. Some came off of gold albums and others with half or less of gold (Wale). It's the power of urban music. His, all the more, b/c he appeals to pop! But he definitely needs to target urban audiences too!
