According to Hurriyet web site, which is the biggest newspaper in Turkey, almost 50% of Madonna tickets are sold in 7 hours. It really is impressive considering the prices :D

Well it's odds on of taking the number 2 slot, maybe if she extends it further she will take number 1.

Out of 8 categories, only 3 categories' tickets are left. All are sold out, including Golden Circle tickets. I think Istanbul will be the third sold out show in Europe after Berlin and Barcelona :D

Number one is impossible to get....IMO!!

2 may be likely if she extend it.....btw what an achievement for her being among the top seller in that list, also considering the Tour department is usually ruled by "old" band.

Well, she may not be a band but she is definitely a veteran and unfortunately since 2005 she's behaving as one too

Well that could be understandable under a certain point of view as she is 53 y.o by now.......but I partially agree with you!!

I mean do you imagine some old legend to release an album like HC? that's not what a veteran act would have churn out at that stage of her career + seeing the tracklist of her last tour, 9 tracks out of 12 of her last album were played during her show: I mean, the Sticky was everything but a best of Tour!

I agree with you instead that she is focused by now on tour basically as all the veterans are into by now, but for God sake seeing how the music buiseness is developping , how could you blame her?

Well, depends how u look at it. By behaving as a veteran I mean not pushing the button musically anymore. Her music since 2005 has been good and bad but never daring. "Confessions" was making the album everyone was expecting her to and "Hard Candy" was going R&B and cooperating with the most mainstream producers she could find (a bit like a failed repetition of "Bedtime Stories"). In none of those two she was seeking to expand her sound or to challenge her fans musically (which was what she was doing throughout her career personally), she was basically seeking another hit so she could stay relevant no matter what. And that's something veterans do. Also the constant reminders of past glory which basically began with 2003's VMA are another aspect of that. And in that respect, nothing we heard about "MDNA" leads me to believe that will change

Looks like the fact she launched the trend for many years has become something to blame to her now: people always expect too much from her: people is always more sever judging Madge effort than other old divas like Celine or Mariah, just to make an example!!

And for me untill she put out some good music, is ok, and for good music I do not mean necessarily mature music: I mean dance, pop music too: HC was a false step, but despite that I'm still looking forward to this new one before launching a final judgement!

I still haven't bought the ticket for the gig in Warsaw. I am wondering if it's worth it, I don't want to see her singing from playback, again. :-?

For the type of show Madonna puts on, the playback is used in a very lower scale.....as you put it down instead it makes it look like she lip sync for the entire show....Madge sing live for almost the WHOLE show....pre recorded track are used just where they are needed!

I disagree about COADF. It wasn't very forward sound wise, but it was never supposed to be - Madonna herself called it "Future Disco" because it's sound was inspired by the whole 70s disco scene. Her producer - Stuart Price - has gone on and taken his sound to many other famous names since then, wanting their own version of this - even Kylie grabbed hold of him.

As for the excitement, its still there - COADF was always going to be a hit because it was total damage control, but Hung Up was just complete and utterly brilliant. Her promo for the album was 100% perfect though.

With Hard Candy, her marriage broke down the same time the album came out so there wasn't much promotion, but I don't think you could say the songs on Hard Candy are lacking - they are complete out and out Madonna songs: she took two producers famed for working in different genres to her own, and they made their sound sound like not just pop songs, but Madonna songs.

Hard Candy may sound generic to some, but they aren't songs that anyone else could have done but Madonna, because they are written using Madonna's formula - and that's why they can sit alongside her other songs (such as on Celebration) and fit - because Madonna songs can be produced by anyone, but still sound similar because of how Madonna writes and co-produces them.
If you're going to Stan over someone, it might as well be the best: MADONNA - giving you hit after hit for 30 years, so that no one else has to.

From Madonnatribe.com :

"Tickets for the Madonna World Tour concert at the Turk Telekom Arena in Istanbul on June 7 are nearly sold out just two days after going on sale, Hurriyet Daily News reports.
The only remaining tickets - originally available in a range from 100 to 600 Turkish Liras - are in the standing area, priced at 165.

The Madonna concert will be her first in Turkey in 19 years, and the third stop in the first leg of the 2012 Tour visiting Europe and the Middle East."
