Ok, a guy in Madonnanation, who has access to Madonna's material, said something about GGW :

There is a spoken word introduction. Best song on earth.

Some color effects that I can not describe cause I don't want to spoil the mystique and suprise. But TRUST this video will have you bowing at the queen's throne. What a moment... ( about the video)

And the report of the spoken word/prayer intro is true. But that's all for now till release!

It will also restore the faith of the fans who were displeased with "Give Me All Your Luvin."

The spoken word intro with M smoking her cig is a nod to Vogue and it is indeed everything!

Lots of half naked guys in the video as well!

One More Bonus Hint:

CHAINS.

I doubt they'd be that childish over something so harmless.
Well, it's Madonna. She propbably wanted all attention just for herself and MIA's Super Bowl gesture ruined it

It's not hard to believe in this when you take into consideration that she wanted "Candy Shop" as the first single from "Hard Candy"
If memory serves, "Candy Shop" was one of the first songs produced for HC and she loved it but by the time the album was done "she was over it". It was a fantastic tour opener but I'm not sure it would have done well as a single. I only listen to the live version.

GMAYL was clearly aimed at the Super Bowl, so I assume that's why she wanted it released?

As for single disagreements, I still wish they let Madonna release Impressive Instant as the fourth single from Music. Was Warner happy that American Life was the first single instead of Hollywood?

Also, I know why she didn't do it, but had "Deeper and Deeper" been the first single from Erotica I think that era might have fared a little better, even though both Erotica and Deeper and Deeper are both fantastic songs.

I think that all madonna's first singles were the right choices, even this one. The problem with GMAYL was the promotion after the superbowl in europe, and the pre-order thing. Remember that in the USA the song was almost #1 when it was removed from itunes. the superbowl effect wasn't going to last forever, and they needed to do something more after that.

I think "Ray Of Light" should've been the lead single of ROL, with "Frozen" being the follow-up. It would have made it clearer that she had moved on from the ballad-heavy mid-90s Madonna and was ready to move back into the dance world.

Yes

My sugar is raw.
I actually think Candy Shop would have been a good single

Not as a first single. But later on.
That song works only as a tour opener IMO. It's propbably one of the worst songs she's ever recorded
I love CS: it's been my fave from the album since ages......

Oh, please, the title track is one of the most grabbing, dance floor-filling anthems of her entire career. 8-) I'm not saying "Frozen" was a bad choice, but I wouldn't have gone with it personally.

Have any of you read the Life With My Sister Madonna book? As much as I like her as an artist, I do think seems like an absolute nightmare to be around. Although, of course, that begs the question, why did he feel the need to stick around with her for so long? He could have left the misery behind and made his own path in life.

It has grown on me just lately.....I remember it being one of my least fave from the album at the time, and was the song I used to skip most of the time listening to the album.

Cmon Chris needed some hard cash to buy its beloved white thing.....You really believe to every BS he put on that book?
The fact is that the more shit he brought to her the more the interest for the book raises: her brother knew the markets rule so well.....

and btw yes I did buy the book, lol.

Oh, definitely, you have to take the book with a pinch of salt, but I certainly believe the implication that she's viciously ruthless. It would have been difficult for her to achieve what she has done without being that way.

Ray of Light is one of my favorites of all time, but i think that for a first single, frozen was a better choice, since it was a "slower" track and pointed in the direction she was going this time. At the time Frozen was diferent from everything at radio.

I couldn't disagree more. Frozen was perfect as the 1st single.

But you know what? Madonna wanted Ray OF Light as the first single...and Frozen as the 2nd single.

This is actually the only time Warner Bros did a good decision...

"Candy Shop" would be way better. "4 Minutes" sounds a mess all over, it even doesn't have a proper chorus.

I think I might be the only person who likes "Hard Candy"? I love "Candy Shop"! lol. "Heartbeat" was always one of my favorites too. I had originally heard the demos of "Give It 2 Me" and "The Beat Goes On", and bought the album thinking they were going to be on there. I was suprised and disapointed at the same time.

This was the "Give it 2 me" demo I heard, and I still really like it....lol  :o

If she was a man, it's a go-getter and taking control and doing the hard work.

Since she's a woman, she's characterized as a bitch. It's a stupid double standard.

I lost a lot of respect for Chris. He worked with her on two tours and seems bitter that his sister moved on with her career and he couldn't ride her coat tails anymore.

How did Frozen do on the radio? It was very different. It's a beautiful song and it did do well in the US. I always wished it reached #1, but timing is everything and MYWGO was on an epic run.

I always thought Ray of Light should have been higher than #5 too.
