can yall believe it that usher's been going strong in the game since his 1997's breakthrough hit "U make me wanna"

He's from the era of bsb, spicegirls, hanson, puffy&mase etc etc :o

And thats before xtina.nsync, britney, ricky and the rest of the late 90's teen pop explosion.

Yes, he's definitely one of the most enduring since he's come out! And he's had MASSIVE success on all fronts - awards, touring, album sales, single sales, AIRPLAY, etc.

He's full circle musically!

I am hoping he smashes like he did with Confessions with music that puts me in the same vibe Confessions does.
"Take A Bow"... Rihanna's ONLY ballad to go #1 on the Hot 100 (also topped the R&B Chart)... Great deed for her most epic ballad!!!

Interview with Pharrell on Working on Usher's new album:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=pl ... bCLMq4fTA#!

Apparently Pharrell recieved exclusive sound bites from Hans Zimmer who is a film music composer. And he supposedly used some sound bites from movies such as Batman and The Lion King, and used them on a track he produced for Usher. Pharrell described it as "sounding as if your on top of Mount Olympus." 8-)

Sounds Interesting, and very different.

Usher sings a couple of lines from 'Climax'.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TCqxucWu ... ature=plcp

He also talks about the record here:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AG9C2CYh ... ature=plcp

There are also 3 more parts to the interview if you go into the first youtube link and look at the videos that where uploaded by the user.

Higlights include Usher mentioning he is going to star in a movie, and will play a character who is a 'icon of our time'.

Who do you think this might be?

Have a good feeling it is someone within Soul/R&B as apparently Usher didn't even have to audition. My gut feeling is someone like James Brown or Marvin Gaye.

^^Nope, its not Marvin and James.

Usher to play boxer Sugar Ray Leonard

Usher has confirmed that he’s set to play Sugar Ray Leonard in an upcoming boxing film called Hands Of Stone.

Leonard, a world champion in five different weight divisions, finally retired from boxing in 1997 after a number of comebacks.

The film is about legendary Panamanian boxer Roberto Durán.

The R&B star said he was in training for the role in the film which he says will also star Robert De Niro and Gael García Bernal.

“I’m in preparation for a very incredible role,” Usher said.

“If you guys see me running around London that’s what it is.

“If you see me in the corners boxing. I’m doing that while working on this album.”

The singer confirmed he’ll start filming for the movie later in 2012.

He also said De Niro is cast as legendary boxing trainer Ray Arcell – who coached 18 world champions including Durán.

Usher, who has scored huge hits with tracks like Yeah!, admitted that he’s yet to meet Leonard in person.

Usher has appeared on screen before, most recently in 2010 film Killers.

Usher’s 2004 Confessions is currently the biggest selling album of the 21st century so far.
I dont know, this icon of our time.

Sugar Ray Leaonard is one of the best boxers of all time.

Probably behind the one and only Sugay Ray Robinson....

Am suprised he has got a boxing role... but if Will Smith and Hilary Swank could do it... then so can he..

What a pointless post! "If you got nothing good to say, then don't say nothing". What makes you think he is 'in the closet'?
