Maverick Sabre has such a good voice. He has the most unique tone which sends shivers down my spine. This acoustic performance is one of my favourites. The guy has so much soul.

Other male vocalists who stand out for me that I can think of at the moment are Daniel Merriweather, Cee-Lo Green and Usher. I love James Blake's voice as well, and agree on Alex Turner - his voice sounds so good on the 'Submarine' EP.

Chris Martin from Coldplay.

He's not technically perfect live, but he's got the most incredible tone + He's one of the most versatile singers around.

He sounds so at ease over Hip Hop instrumentals, Kanye West's HomeComing, for example, something most of the otherfrontmen would never pull off.

I like Robbie's voice too.
and also Seal.
and Marilyn Manson. sexxxxy voice

but if we consider both technical aspects and tone as well, then I still think Ville Valo is like the ultimate perfect male voice. his 4 octave range and haunting and sexy tone pretty much satisfy all requirements imo, I couldnt ask for anything more.

vocal acrobatics dont impress me too much when it comes to male vocalists anyways.

My first post on this forum! I've been lurking for a while and finally decided to join. Here's my top male vocalists:

Steven Tyler - amazing range and power; voice hasn't faded much with age; very unique sound

Brandon Boyd (of Incubus) - incredible power and clarity in his voice; great falsetto

Eddie Vedder - like Steven, has an unreal range and power; good at switching between intense almost screamy vocals and more subdued vocals; vocal style was copied to death by numerous rock singers, most notably Scott Stapp

James Maynard Keenan (of Tool and A Perfect Circle) - decent power, but his main strength is showing incredible emotion and intensity in his singing; like Eddie Vedder, good at switching between loud and intense and more subdued

There are many more male singers that I do like and are excellent, but these four are probably the best for me. I find in general that male pop singers (like Michael Jackson, Elton John, Bruno Mars, and Justin Timberlake) have very likeable voices and have vocal skill no doubt, but just don't compare to these rock singers who exude so much power and emotion in their voices. I think there probably are R&B male singers who are comparable (Cee Lo Green, Luther Vandross), but I just don't know enough of their music to say definitively how their voices compare.

Rob Thomas (Matchbox 20) has a great voice.
Gary Lightbody from Snow Patrol - love that you can hear the Irish accent in his voice when he sings

Of the old school.....Otis Redding 8-)

To me, Mika is the best actually.

If we talk about legends, i d say McCartney, Sinatra, Sting & Freddie Mercury.
What if we choose to exist in a reality of our own making, does that render us insane, and if so, isn't that better than a life of despair?
