First Aid Kit's Emmylou were doing well in my Chart too. I even thought of this one as of contender to No.1, but this week it has fell from 4 to 7 as new exciting singles from School Of Seven Bells and Miike Snow exclude it from Top5...
Nice to see The Shins in Waiting Room. Absolutely fantastic single!

I haven't checked the new album of School of Seven Bells yet. Is it on Spotify? I was in a large multimedia-store this morning, and saw the new album just arrived today. Due to the enormous choice of music and movies over there I forgot to pick it up, and ended up with a whole bunch of bargain cd's and the Tin Tin "Secret of the Unicorn"-movie (which is off course very big in Belgium)

Everybody was there for the Tin Tin blu-ray

I hate the loudness wars. Recently I have heard some "better mastered" new pop music. Some Scandinavian and Belgian releases are "acceptable". Also a few US indie releases, like Jonathan Wilson.

I was also surprised that the Eliza Doolittle debut album (which I finally picked up this week) was quite good sounding (DR8). Also good: Jonathan Jeremiah, PJ Harvey and Jamie Woon latest albums.

The latest First Aid Kit-album has also an overal DR8 + The cd is 24-bit (HDCD) (saw this while ripping in dbpoweramp with the HDCD plugin).

Music I discovered from my parents record collection

Lana Del Rey (nr. 2): the "standard" Lana Del Rey-album is now available at HDTracks.com in 24bit/44.1kHz. There is some more depth in the music. But you'll need a dac + seperate "stereo system" to hear it. I'm afraid PC speakers won't let you hear it as it should be.
PS: there are some good entry-level stereo-systems. You don't have to be a millionaire to own a good entry-level system.

Outside US: you'll need a paypal account for HDtracks. Normally only accesible for US-citizens. Don't fill in your address,... at the HDtracks registration form! Keep it empty and checkout with paypal!
