But all the singles became a bit overplayed for me so I got quite bored of them.
I made a mistake and had to get rid of one song...hopefully you're the only one who will know about it.
I couldn't imagine a worse lead single! And it happened to be the only flop from the album (if 'Stay The Night' had been the final single, I think it could have still been a hit).GetBack wrote:Now we all know why Mariah's label executives are always critical of her single choices, imagine if "Say Somethin'" was the first single, (obviously there would be no "It's like That", "We Belong Together" and "Shake it Off" since those songs were only created after she was sent back to work with Jermaine again) the whole album would probably just sell less than half of its total sales! They would have scrambled with the follow-up singles (Island Def jam always does in the case of Mimi).![]()
I agree! "Stay the Night", "Mine Again" and "Fly Like a Bird" were ready to be singles, they may not have been close to being as successful as "We Belong Together" but they would have given her a boost in album sales! "Say Somethin'" really killed the album's momentum.biscuits wrote:I couldn't imagine a worse lead single!
