Thought a thread could be useful for all the juice details coming out from this trial last few days. I didn't want to discuss this in DH thread since it will get mixed with real show discussion.

The latest piece of info is that Nicolette and Terri apparantly had a huge fight on set and Nicolette called her ''the meanest woman in the World'' :o

While Nicollette asserts she was fired in retaliation to her problem with Marc's alleged hit to her head, Marc's juicy side of the story keeps spilling!!

According to him, there was awful tension between Nicollette and other cast members like Teri Hatcher. He testified having to break up a fight between the two and that's when Nicollette called Teri "the meanest woman in the world." Ha! Rich!

The whole trial is about Nicollette claiming Cherry hit her on the head on set.

We're finally getting the story, straight from her mouth!

During Nicollette Sheridan's testimony in court today for her multi-million dollar wrongful termination lawsuit for being fired from Desperate Housewives, she discussed openly the HOrrific claim that series creator Marc Cherry hit her for suggesting new lines while filming a scene!

According to the actress:

"It was a nice wallop to my head. It was shocking, humiliating, it was demeaning."

And when asked by her lawyer if she was willing to demonstrate how hard she was hit, she replied:

"I don't want to hurt you."

Furthermore, she went on to say that it was after she complained about her boss' treatment of her, she was let go!

For the record, Cherry claims he merely tapped Sheridan 'lightly' to demonstrate to direct her in the scenes, and that her character was killed off for creative reasons, not retaliation!

And he's got Eva Longoria, Marcia Cross and Felicity Huffman are on the witness list for the defense!

Yeesh! It's going to be interesting to see how this one turns out!

What do U think actually went down?

I wonder if Eva, Marcia and Felicity will actually have to make appereances. That would be interesting, to say the least. :o

Team Nicolette. Edie's death on DH was that irreversible shark jump similar to when Cousin Pam joined Cosby Show and when Roseanne won the lottery.

^^^ I'm team Nicolette too. To me it's so funny that all of this is happening like it's a storyline right out of the show. So many times Eddie had to fight the rest of the girls and in a way it's the same story again. She was the one left out and she wants justice and revenge for it.

Though I do not think the show jumped the shark with Eddie's death. Her last episode (with the memories) is one of my favorites, especially the last scene and her monologue. Eddie had a great death and great send off imo, if she stayed alive her character would never get that type of attention imo. Though of course this doesn't matter to Nicolette who lost money.

I don't feel like I have the right to vote in this. We don't know what went on behind the scenes - we're just getting two different versions of something so I can't judge.

I can say that it seems like Marc Cherry was quite sneaky and quite dishonest regarding Nicolette's exit from the show at the time.

However, from the show's point of view, killing Edie off was a major loss, but the show had already 'jumped the shark' with the 5 year time-leap.

True dat. DH was already suffering a weak directionless season by leaping five years (and it was solid up to that point) and with the horrible Dave mystery. I think killing Edie was just another nail in the coffin.

I love Edie as well, her being thrown out of the show was a complete shock for me and a sad lost for the show. I love her character.

The way she died was definitely the worst Marc has ever come up with, also the way they've all forgotten about her so fast like she was a random character was definitely even worse, I don't recall them shed a tear or even grief.

Mistrial declared in 'Housewives' firing case

LOS ANGELES (AP) — A judge declared a mistrial Monday in Nicollette Sheridan's wrongful termination trial after the jury deadlocked, leaving an unresolved finale to a trial that focused on the behind-the-scenes intrigue and personalities of TV's "Desperate Housewives."

Superior Court Judge Elizabeth Allen White excused the panel after it deadlocked 8-4 in favor of the claim by Sheridan.

Sheridan strolled out of the courthouse without speaking to reporters. Her attorney Mark Baute said he would retry the case.

The jury first reported problems in deliberations on Thursday then resumed discussions Monday. It later reported no change and said they didn't expect any additional time or attorneys' arguments would help break the impasse.

Interesting article on Nicolette and some behind the scene details that came from trial.

For his part, Mr Cherry — who is gay — lifted the lid on a vipers’ nest of bitchiness between the show’s principal women stars. He revealed that the most incendiary relationship was between Sussex-born Miss Sheridan and Teri Hatcher, who plays ditzy Susan Delfino.

He claimed tensions between the two were so volatile that he had to break them up after Miss Sheridan branded her rival ‘the meanest woman in the world’ to her face.

Things got so bad that Mr Cherry recruited television psychologist Dr Phil McGraw to hold regular therapy sessions in a bid to stop the squabbling between the women and fellow actresses Marcia Cross, Eva Longoria, Felicity Huffman and Dana Delany. He even put up signs around the set saying: ‘No backstabbing. Only back-scratching.’

The co-stars were said to have been ‘relieved’ when Miss Sheridan was fired (Miss Huffman, who plays Lynette Scavo, immediately took over her recently-redecorated trailer).

Well it seemed like more jurors were in favour of Nicolette. Guess we'll never really know the true story though. It's a shame they parted on bad terms - I would've loved Edie to have appeared in the last season of Desperate Hosuewives.
