And you misinterpreted everything I said. Go back and read.

Many group singers (especially those who don't lead) have to retrain their voices, which were trained for the sound of the group and not individual development.

I didn't take a swipe at Beyonce. The group revolved around her sound.

Oh ok, you're right. The girls were definitely overlooked and they should have been given more primetime. However, I'm not sure if her voice has suffered from that, even if she was trying to adjust. But I really have no knowledge to talk about this objectively.

I'll tell all of you guys right now. After I've seen her perform Greatest Love of All and Fantasy, I'm convinced that Kelly has finally found her niche.

She to go the Mariah-Whitney avenue. Ballads, midtempos and uptempos that showcase her voice and allow her to really crossover (not just to pop but to adult R&B audiences too).

I think I'm becoming a big fan of hers.

Confirmation comes courtesy of himaker Lonny Bereal, who told Kempire Radio:

Kelly is returning to real R&B music. She’s going in so hard with the R&B. Of course, she is going to give the Pop crowd what they’re looking for. But, she really is returning to R&B on this album.

She has been singing so amazingly and her voice just so pure. Her delivery is real confident now. It’s definitely a new Kelly Rowland. She wouldn’t even let me put autotune on her voice this time round. She was like “no, I want people to really get me”. She’s killing everything from the uptempo’s to the ballads.

My involvement with the project has been amped up to be more like how I worked on ‘Ms. Kelly’. With the last album, I only really wrote ‘Keep It Between Us’ and vocal produced her on like 4 or 5 songs that I didn’t take the credit for. On this new album, I am actually vocal producing the entire project. The album is coming together amazingly and she’s sounding great. She has a new confidence and knows what she has now, so it’s sounding great.

I'm both happy and sad. I really wanted her to come out with a dance album. But I feel like since everyone is doing it, she doesn't want to do it. I really wish she would have committed to a dance album or at least an ep or mixtape.

Well, I hope her r&b is a modern version of Whitney/Mariah's uptempo's like Fantasy and How Will I Know.

Kelly performs both of those songs well.

I don't want dance unless it's banger. Down For Whatever wasn't it!

she should never have recorded a "dance" song with RedOne tbh, she should have went to Guetta, Calvin or Afrojack if she wanted a smash, RedOne is too much busy with his copy and paste button nowadays

Yes I'm here for those R&B uptempos. That could be her forte. I only want slow jamz a la motivation style. Another collaboration with Trey would be good. They have a lot of chemistry together.

But I'm really mad she didn't go for it and dive head first into a Dance album. She practically had David Guetta at her disposal.
