I found the 'suicide pie' hilarious! I love how they kept referring to it as 'suicide pie'.

Bree has definitely given us some comedy gold this season!

^^^ Me too, it's been a great ride with the folks of Wisteria Lane and I will miss them sorely. It's so sad when I think about these being last episodes and adventures and that in a month or so there will be no more. :(

I also agree with JSparksFan, this season is great overall, there are just some scenes/plots I would delete or adjust. For me the only stupid thing was Orson saying he predicted the whole thing and wanted to separate them by sending letters which makes no sense but I already wrote about that.

Anyway, saw the ad for next episode, Mike's funeral and impact of his death. My friend still thinks he will be alive. Have to send her the trailer now.

I'd put S8 as my 3rd favourite series, after the first two. It really has been that good for me.

^^^ That's how I would rank them too, only I would have S1 and S4 split the No1 spot. First season of most shows are regarded as best so the fact s4 was so great despite show being in it's forth year makes it even more of an achievement. For me S3 was also much better that S2 which wasn't one of my favorites, too much filler in it imo. S3 felt like such a positive change, Orson coming with a big dark secret, the whole show felt renewed somehow. Loved the premiere of it with the rain theme.

S4 is sooo overrated on this forum!

The quality of S4 was so weak compared to the first 3 seasons for me. The writers strike didn't help matters, because it meant there was a huge break in the middle (which hadn't happened before in the UK) and we didn't get a complete series.

Katherine was a good character (I hated her in S4) but the mystery wasn't great. The Gabby/Edie/Carlos/Victor stuff was awesome. The Bree fake pregnancy was a farce though and Susan being pregnant was meh.

I really don't understand why this series is so many of y'alls favourite? :-?

S4 is tops. It seems I'm the complete opposite to you, biscuits! The one storyline I didn't like was the Gaby/Carlos/Victor/Edie one - though the episode where Edie figures out they've been having the affair is brilliant 'crabcakes?'.

I thought the Lynette having cancer storyline was brilliant. I'm quite glad it didn't drag on too long as it would get dull but Felicity gave some of her best performances, especially in the Hallowe'en episode.

The Katherine mystery was decent, as was her rivalry with Bree. Adam was decnet too (and hot), and I liked the Dylan/Julie friendship (despite it meaning that Susan was involved in another mystery).

I enjoyed Bree's fake pregnancy - it provided plenty of laughs and the birth episode was fantastic. Not sure what she did in the second half of the season though, except I enjoyed the Orson running over Mike storyline popping up again.

Plus, Something's Coming blew the season out of the water.

To me all storylines were great in S4. First the mystery was the best after S1, it actually made sense and was creepy and we didn't know what the hell happened till the last episodes. It had a great last episode and the whole thing ended with the great last scene (girls saving Kath's secret) and the shocking 5 year jump. Katherine was also a great addition to the show and the fact she had history on Wisteria Lane made it even better. Susan and Mike were finally together, something we all wanted, Bree's fake pregnancy gave us some great comedy moments (the barbecue scene, Halloween birth giving  ). Gaby/Carlos/Eddie provided some soap love triangle drama along with Victor. Lynette had her best season, battling cancer gave Felicity a chance to shine. So many emotional moments for her. Then there's the peak of the season, tornado and it's aftermath, I still get shivers when I remember that episode and the follow up, again Lynette had the biggest moments there. Then Kayle goes psycho on Lynette. Also Lynette's mother appeared. Wow, thinking about stuff that happened in this season make me realize how great it was even more, have to watch it soon again.

I think the strike actually contributed to making this season so good. It had 17 episodes, less filler and more quality.

Also the ratings went up, show was back in top 5 most watched in that tv season and was No1 scripted show for the first time, beating CSI.

Ah yes, the Lynette vs. Kayla stuff was very well done. Was this when the twins set fire to Rick's restaurant? (That was too far-fetched for me).

The second half of the season was when Carlos was blind I think. I can't really remember much there.

The Orson reveal was fantastic and the aftermath was even better (Orson staying with Edie, Edie blackmailing Bree). In fact, the scene where the girls snub Edie for good is a really memorable scene for me, and made me feel so bad for Edie.

Maybe I should re-watch the season in one go so I can put it all together, because now I only ever associate this season with a big gap in the middle.

I think there are some episodes from second half of the season which I haven't seen since they aired! :o

Do you think it's likely a complete 8 season box set will be released this year?

I feel gutted that I've bought all of the individual seasons so far. In hindsight I should've waited 'til the show ended and bought the compelte boxset. It's even more frustrating that from S6 onwards the DVD packaging changed.

^ What will you do? Will you keep the DVD's you have or sell them and get the complete box set?

I only own the first three seasons, so I guess I could try sell them.

I agree. Season 4 was excellent, who the hell knows what went through Marc Cherry's mind to follow a season that got the show back on top to eff everything up and move five years later. IMO the "five years later" thing only worked for One Tree Hill mainly because to that point you were dealing with a bunch of 26 year old actors still playing high schoolers, all moving that show five years in the future past graduation did was have the actors play something a bit closer to their actual ages. DH completely changed everything.

Well, I've played my season 1/2/3/4 boxes so much they've become unrecognisable!

It's so easy to forget the 5 year jump ever happened. For instance, Mike and Susan will have known each other for 13 years when he died, but I think the viewers prefer to just remember it as 8 years.

Oh, and did anyone notice that MJ actually got a mention in Sunday's episode? Not by name, but it's better than nothing

I definitely won't do anything straight away. If I do decide to buy the compelte box set I'd wait until it's a bit cheaper that it'll be when first released, then sell my individual ones on ebay.

Some funeral info:

- MJ will be in the episode!
- The men of Wisteria Lane will be pallbearers.
- VANESSA WILLIAMS WILL SING!

I hope they remember to include his mom in the funeral. She spoke with a southern, country accent and was very old fashioned. Julie should also be there...and Zach Young!

That just made me think of Michael Jackson. What does MJ stand for? I remember it being a name that Susan detested.

I saw the promo and Julie's there, no sign of Zach though - I forget he's Mike's son (thankfully, I couldn't stand the character).

Can't wait for Vanessa singing again!

It stands for Maynard Junior. I think it was Mike's grandfather's name and it had some special meaning to Mike. I can't remember exactly what that meaning was.

I think it was because he admired his grandfather for looking after Mike and his mom, so he wanted MJ to have a name to live up to.

With everything that was relevaled/happened so far, I just don't see what else is left to be shown. Killing another character in the finale would be too much, and now when we know who sent those letters I really can't see the 'explosive finale' I was hoping for. :(
