Michael Jackson's "Thriller" and Eagles' "Their Greatest Hits" were certified double diamond long ago (for sales of 2,000,000 copies): the former reached that status during 1984 (when still selling) and the latter during 1987. It is very easy to notice (for anyone who looks at things with an even eye) that those two albums have sold between 2,500,000 and 3,000,000 copies overall in Canada. Same for "Rumours" and other albums. So a little bit more than 800,000 sales to go.Timmy94 wrote:@Euromillions: Is Wikipedia right saying that Come On Over is the all-time-best-seller in Canada? If yes, than there are still 800k left between it and 21, which is another big margin to pass...
I think it is still too early to predict whether Adele will get there or not, but she may do so. She has to sell more than twice as many albums as she has sold so far.
The list you are quoting (although I could be wrong) is probably a Soundscan one, thus going further back to 1996 only, and without club sales, which obviously plays against the oldest albums ("Come On Over", for instance, will have sold plenty of copies through that avenue).
