Hands Clean is a song which always gets me smiling. I don't know why this is but it's a lovely song.

These are 21 things that I want in a lover
Not necessarily needs but qualities that I prefer

Do you derive joy when someone else succeeds?
Do you not play dirty when engaged in competition?
Do you have a big intellectual capacity but know that it alone does not equate to wisdom?
Do you see everything as an illusion but enjoy it even though you are not of it?
Are you both masculine and feminine, politically aware, and don't believe in capital punishment?
Do you derive joy from diving in and seeing that loving someone can actually feel like freedom?
Are you funny and self-deprecating, like adventure, and have many formed opinions?

8-) 8-) 8-)

Wunderkind: 3/10 - Really, really boring.

Doth I Protest Too Much: 6.5/10 - Easily the best so far. I really liked this one.

Are You Still Mad: 4/10 - This was alright.

Head Over Feet: 7.5/10 - I loved this one! I can so totally relate to it. That's probably why.

Straitjacket: 5.5/10 - I really like this one, but I wished you'd had a "language discretion" warning 'cause my mommy was right next to me when I was listening to it.

Eight Easy Steps: 6.5/10 - Really catchy chorus on this one! I like it.

Out Is Through: 4/5/10 - The songs are definitely getting better as we get higher, but this one was still forgettable.

Hands Clean: 5/10 - This was nice but nothing phenomenal.

21 Things I Want In A Lover: 4.5/10 - This was okay, but if I could list twenty-one qualities I wanted in a lover, I'd choose totally different ones than those she listed.

Akini - Alanis is not always an "instant" act for people, some of her songs take time and being able to relate to her lyrics is key to really enjoying Alanis.

A ferocious track, she is getting nearer to god..."give me strength all knowing one, how long 'til enlightenment? How much longer 'til you completely absolve me?"

God, this is good! Kinda unexpected and complex chorus.

You have switched the Youtube link of Baba with Are You Still Mad, though

Huh, they are the correct links I just checked...

Glad you like it, this album is probably her most complex and experimental, it's not an easy album to listen to, there are only a few more tracks from it to come.

May come as a surprise but I love Alanis's cover, it's a gorgeous thumping sonic reworking, I enjoy many of the remixes for it too, check them! :D

Admittedly, I can't relate to a good portion of her songs but I'll try to give the ones I don't like a chance to grow on me.

Classic, everyone should know this one, great track, what's ironic is that some of the things in the song aren't actually ironic!  Stormer!

It's meeting the man of my dreams
And then meeting his beautiful wife [man]

It's like rain on your wedding day
It's a free ride when you've already paid
It's the good advice that you just didn't take
Who would've thought... it figures

Absolutely love it Image
