Yeah lots of great news this week, delighted at the radio add, I think I actually punched the air.

I love Alexandra but I can see why people find some of her actions OTT or cringeworthy. I can't however understand why they'd HATE her or want to hurt her?

With regard to Celebrity Juice, she did nothing wrong, except for try to keep up. I think she's a naturally fun person but not a naturally comic person, so when she tries to be funny, it comes across as a bit try hard. That's my take anyway - she wants to please so bad. Did she deserve that backlash? No, she mostly came across as someone there to have fun and get involved.

I hate to bring race and sex into it, but black women get it worse than any other social group. We in England don't seem to like a confident black woman.

Round of applause. This is the truth of it. Black women in the UK need to keep their mouths shut and smile otherwise they are 'arrogant' 'bitchy' or 'strange'. It's rare outside of athletics to see a black woman from the UK do well. We only get the drippings of American culture and that has been exaggerated, from crazy black women in films, to bitchy crazy black women in Jerry Springer/ Maury. There just doesn't seem a lot of exposure for black women outside of reality shows. Even then we get some 'characters' reinforcing the stereotypes i.e. Makosi, Charley Uchea (Big Brother) etc

Alex seems like a genuinely lovely girl who wanted a singing career so bad and got it, she always seems greatful and tries to get her personality across and I think that's her main problem, she tries.

^ Don't disagree with ya'll.

Alex has always seemed like an old-school kinda American diva anyways, like Mariah/Whitney/Diana.

She's just too fahbulous for the general UK public.

Not particularly, I watched it and thought she came across quite well - she was being quite fun.

I can see why people dislike her though, she has a certain confident manner about herself that people might not like.
Its arrogance. This song however is amazing even if the video isn't. Hope it can hit number 1 at some point. :)

True. It's a shame but if she were white I doubt she'd be getting this much hate.

I love the interview she did with Matt Edmondson for Radio 1, it's a funny watch! "I'm floggin' anuvva single babe!"

In no way does twitter represent the views of the UK general public as a whole. We would be in real trouble as a society if it did :o

I love this song more than Bad Boys, but still I hope this is not the sound she's heading for the next album. I want Good Night Good Morning sound. :D

Do people even understand the meaning of the word arrogance?

Arrogance is thinking yourself superior to others. Alex is loud, confident and can be very annoying, but never does she come across as superior. I have not once heard her claim that she is better than others in any way, or be rude or dismissive to an interviewer and treat them as inferior.

People hate on Alex not because she is arrogant, but because they themselves are not very nice. Let's not make excuses for internet bullying and try and say Alex is somehow to blame for the disgusting comments about her on Twitter last night.

I think Alex is lovely... I can understand why people think she may come across a bit fake or whatever but I don't think she is at all. She's just majorly excited, enthusiastic and invested in her career. She really loves what she does and I think that's wonderful. I guess people don't think it's natural? I think it is!

On Digital Spy, people were saying that her comment regarding her being the executive producer of her album was her being a diva! NO, that means she wants to be in control of her career and music. What's wrong with that?! Nothing!

I agree with this:

She's probably going to be overtaken by the other Guetta track and fall to 8 soon on iTunes... I really hope this can hold on in the top 3 for tomorrow... if not, a top 5 single is still a success considering, but could be better! Top 3 please!

She should be in the iTunes top 10 a while though, she's a fair bit ahead of the No.11. Depends what's out tonight too mind..

The fall is disappointing, to be honest #2 by Sunday was never happening but I'd love #3. Next week will be interesting too once Radio 1 play really kicks off. Two weeks in the top 5 would be awesome.

To be honest Mike I think it'll have done well to spend a second week top 10 what with Katy Perry, JLS, Labrinth and Sean Paul all out... I suspect a run of something like 3/4-10

Managed to get ahead of Swedish House Mafia and yet still down to 11 on iTunes because of those four entries :(

Aye, I wish they'd given Alicia Dixon, Mel B, Leona Lewis, Kelly Holmes and Denise Lewis more exposure over the past 10 years, I'm really annoyed that they've not been well recieved by the public purely because of their skin colour.

Absolutely hilarious the lengths some of you in here are going to in trying to find reasons for her not being liked.

She didn't say we don't like 'when a black woman is given exposure', she said we don't 'seem' to like a 'confident black woman'. Leona Lewis does NOT fall into this category, and I wouldn't say Denise Lewis does either especially. Kelly Holmes and Alesha Dixon have definitely both had criticism over their personality and been described as arrogant (mind, I'd argue that Kelly actually IS). The only good example there is Mel B, who is obviously a very confident black lady who has done really well and remained loved...

And no offence to southerners but I definitely think Mel B having a Leeds accent and coming across as more "salt of the earth" has helped her cause.

I know this is getting off-topic now but I think skin tone is a factor too.

If we look at people who's attitudes have been slated: Jamelia, Estelle, Alexandra Burke, Misha B etc.... they are all dark skinned.
I'm not saying that must be the reason but I think it's a facctor.
I mean look at Example gets away with all the stuff he says

Like no-one goes to me "oh bladdd" or says "ghetto" phrases to me but they do it to my friend who's darker skinned than I am. It's all banter obviously but it's interesting I think that despite me being black no-one ever has that batnter with me
