I agree... She never had as good songs again as she had in her first era (my opinion). People noticed that especially when Goodbye Lullaby was released: They remembered Sk8er Boy or Complicated and compared to What The Hell, which fell far off to that.
I really hope she'll have her personal "I'm Not Dead" with her next album and shows how talented and creative she is!

I still remember the first time I heard Complicated on the radio...blown away.

Here's hoping for a return to form for Avril. 8-)

I absolutely hated her first album.. and most songs on it. Her second album is her best then Goodbye Lullaby.

I really like Let Go, but UMS is her best album to date. It's still pop-rock, but more more mature than debut album. For me, How Does It Feel is a masterpiece

Her single sales are quite low in the UK :-? She doesn't even have a Gold eligible single.

Ahh I thought Gold was 100,000 but thats for Albums :-? (not 400,000 :o ). The Certifications for Singles in the UK are pretty Big and Hard to reach though, than in other countries don't you think?

She's always been an Album Artist... With the exeption of her first or second singles.

I cannot believe that WTH sold more than When You're Gone? WTF. But when thinking about it WTH was a long running Top 20 hit.... If it wasn't released OAOS I think it would have gone Top 5. :(

Which site did you get this info from? Most of the sales seem correct, however Under My Skin should be around 620,000. It was at 591,000 when The Best Damn Thing came out. Also, where's the sales of Hot?

Yeah, it's because sales are higher now in the UK. When WTH reached #16 last year, with those same sales a few years before, then it would have been a top 10 hit. As well, I only think it spent 1 week in the top 20.

I saw in other forums, sorry about any mistake
Well... I didn't found the sales of "hot" and "Wish You Were Here," and I don't know about "Keep Holding On", but I know it sold 5.000 in 2011
About Under My Skin ... it was VERY difficult to find sales, but i found nothing more than 560,000, are you sure it sold +620,000?

From Music Week in 2007:

Lavigne’s third number one album from as many releases, The Best Damn Thing debuting in pole position on sales of 60,500, following Girlfriend’s number two success.

Lavigne’s 2002 debut album, Let Go sold 74 copies on its first week in the shops, but eventually topped the chart for three weeks in January 2003, and has so far sold 1,720,000 copies. Follow-up Under My Skin debuted at number one in 2004 on sales of 87,500, and has now sold 594,000 copies.

No, they are OK. Every single that did well on the chart has a chance to reach Gold and ones with big success can reach Platinum. It's just countries like Australia or the USA that gives you the impression that certs are hard to get in the UK because singles can reach Gold or even Platinum there without even having reached the top 20... Over 100 songs reach a cert there each year meaning it's not outstanding anymore to reach Gold there!

Yes, Agreed its ridiculous looking at US/Aus/NZ charts (especially Aus/Nz) and seeing the majority of records platinum with the big selling ones as far as 7X.. Ridiculous.... Holy shit.. Cannot believe I'm agreeing with Timmy!

Australia is even more ridiculous than the US by now. It happens quite often that ONE week is enough for Gold. In the US selling 500k is still a HUGE exception. Plus some recent Australia singles are 9 x Platinum and the biggest in the US is still in the 7m-zone

But yeah, 'tis ridiculous. Avril's single sales were OK for back in the day! (Though, admittedly, not too great)

Here's some interesting info for the Avril fans...

'I'm With You' was never officially released as a single in Australia, it was an airplay only promo at the time. This week, Ben Hazlewood sang 'I'm With You' on The Voice and it has been in the top 50 on iTunes since. This means 'I'm With You' could possibly enter the Australian charts for the first time ever, 10 years after 'Let Go' came out.

Good news from Japan, 'Alice' and 'Complicated' are now both certified GOLD for full song mobile downloads.

That's cool! : D

Week Ending June 17, 2012.

In addition, "Call Me Maybe" this week surpasses Avril Lavigne's 2007 smash "Girlfriend" to become the best-selling song in digital history by a female artist from Canada. "Call Me Maybe" has sold 3,553,000 copies. "Girlfriend" has sold 3,505,000."Girlfriend" also reached #1 on the Hot 100, though it held the top spot for only one week.
