Suarez and Evra today.... what a pair of complete idiots! This kind of childish petulence is becoming much too regular in football thesedays, especially at the top level. Too much ego and too few braincells! :-?

Yep, agree with you. This coupled with the whole Terry saga...

I wish football could go back to being about football again.

Yep indeed. Add Tevez in the mix too and this season will be remembered for all the wrong reasons :(

On another note, Chelsea's football on the whole has been dreadful to watch this season. I'd be able to live with the results if the players were at least trying their best, but they just look so disinterested and unmotivated. I really hope a big clear-out is on the cards in the summer. If we don't at least make Top 4 we'll struggle to attract the players we need. I'm amazed Arsenal are still only level on points with us, if it wasn't for their bad start they'd be out of sight.

What a day!!!

Amazing result for Arsenal, take that Spurs! :D Was a joy to watch!

And an incredibly exciting Carling Cup climax too!

Shame United had to nick three points!

Bale is such a diving cheat, I enjoyed the comeback even more after that. They only beat us at White Hart Lane because of a handball.

Indeed, I won't mind too much though if they nick 3 points next week...

Right now i'm embarrassed to be a Chelsea fan, after them sacking yet another manager. Once again player power has won at the club. Until they flush out all the has-been players with the over-inflated egos left over from Mourinho's era, nothing will change for the better regardless of who's in charge.

I totally agree... it looks like this seems to have been the case with every manager that has been brought in since Mourinho and I think it's the key reason that they have underacheived. It's not like they haven't had some world class managers along the way. I feel sorry for AVB, I reckon he will go on to do a great job at another club.

A cyprus sensation is still alive and kicking. Well done, APOEL.

Yeah, congrats to the underdogs Apoel for making the last eight. I saw them play Chelsea in the group stage in the 09/10 season, it was a 2-2 draw at the Bridge, and I was quite impressed with them back then even though they finished last in the group. Nice to see them doing so well this season.

Yesterday both Manchester teams participating in Europa League showed where their priority is.

Just been watching the highlights of that Man U vs Bilbao game. Looked like a great performance from Bilbao, they carved Man U apart so many times and could easily have scored a few more.

Man U looked as if they don't have any desire to win this match. I think the decision has been made to concentrate on gaining another Premiership title.

^ I'm not sure I agree they didn't want to win/progress further, although I do agree that the Premiership will be their bigger priority. Ferguson put out a team that he would've thought was capable of winning the match:

01 De Gea
03 Evra
04 Jones
06 Evans
12 Smalling (Carrick - 55' )
21 Rafael
11 Giggs (Nani - 75' )
13 Park Ji-sung (Anderson - 61' )
18 Young
10 Rooney
14 Hernandez

I think though that Man U have just carried over their poor form from the Champion's League group stage into this tournament too.

Great win for us over Napoli! I'm glad some pride was restored after recent events. Good spirited performance! :)
I just hope we can avoid the big guns in the next round.

Champions League draw's been made today. Benfica can be tricky opposition as Man U found out, but it could have been a lot worse. I just hope we can make it through and Milan can somehow dump out Barca [/wishful thinking]

Q/F:
Apoel Nicosia v Real Madrid
Marseille v Bayern Munich
Benfica v Chelsea
AC Milan v Barcelona

S/F:
Apoel Nicosia / Real Madrid v Marseille / Bayern Munich
Benfica / Chelsea v AC Milan / Barcelona

That's a shocker about Fabrice Muamba collapsing in the FA Cup match earlier! :( Seems he's in a critical condition. Really hope he recovers ok!
