pierpinto wrote:Shipments of Thriller in The US.

29xPlat (21/08/2009) with 29,4 mill according to Sony Austria in the same month.

Soundscan:

5,393,441 by 23/08/2009
6,064,694 by 12/02/2012

670k+ sold since the last certif.

29,4+0,67=30,07

assuming that in august 2009 there were still 200k copies unsold in the shelves, Thriller has shipped for sure ~29,9 mill.
Over 30 millions within the end of 2012

bobmoo79 wrote:I'm amazed how small some of the US arenas seems to be, or at least the attendance at some is very low.
Many/some arenas are medium size and besides that the full capacity of the arenas can't be used. Generally the shows weren't sold out, but that is perfectly normal for this type of show. Tickets are really expensive, and THE IMMORTAL is a audio-visual spectacle so it is quite an important position from where one looks.

bobmoo79 wrote:The O2 Arena in London has so far sold out 3 shows and has 5 or 6 scheduled. It holds up to 20,000 people per night, so could easily have a total attendance of 100,000 over 6 shows (of course 120,000 would be fantastic!).
According to Cirque President and CEO Daniel Lamarre they are planing 3 more shows in London. :D
Read this...
Cirque President and CEO Daniel Lamarre: ... We then go to Europe for six months. We’d marked London for six dates, but they sold out immediately just to Cirque club members. We’re looking to add at least three more shows there. It’s a stampede in Asia with the promoters there, so we’re now putting that part of the plan into place.

A show of this kind would normally run two years, and now we’re looking at three, maybe four years. Many cities here in North America were sold out, so we would like the show to come back for repeat dates -- but not on this side of the country because we don’t want to cannibalize the new Mandalay show. ...

I have recently visited some shops in Brazil and MJ's albuns and DVDs are everywhere. But some products are hard to find.

Easy to find in the stores I visited: Bad (CD), Immortal (2CD), HIStory Vol 1(DVD), History Vol 2 (DVD), Dangerous Tour (DVD), The life of an icon (garbage).

Not so easy, but still easy to find: Michael (CD), Dangerous (CD), Thriller (CD), Number Ones (DVD), Blood on the dance floor (CD).

Hard to find: This Is It, King Of Pop, The Collection , Number Ones (CD), Off the Wall (CD - VERY hard), HIStory (2CDs and 1CD), Invincible (CD - VERY hard), Dangerous (DVD - NOT so hard), The One (DVD - I have not seen it recently, but it was very popular in stores).

PS: Obviously Brazil is a huge country and I've visited only stores in my area.

Michael Jackson THE IMMORTAL World Tour by Cirque du Soleil continues its tour visiting Charlotte and Milwaukee:

Dates - Venue, City, State, Country - Gross Sales - Attendance - (number of shows)
March 13-14, 2012 - Time Warner Cable Arena, Charlotte, North Carolina, USA - $1.100.604 - 10,369 - (2)
March 16-17, 2012 - Bradley Center, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA - $1.518.631 - 13,828 - (2)

TOTAL as of March 18, 2012:
Gross Sales: $80.808.253
Attendance: 722,448
Number of venues / (shows): 34* / (102)*
* Since there is no data (for Gross Sales & Attendance) for 2 cities/venues I didn't include them in this calculation

The next stop on the tour is again Bell Centre, Montreal, Quebec, Canada where it all began last October.

A little trivia: In March the tour will visit 9 cities, the most in one month since the beginning of the tour. With 20 shows in a month, March will be the second busiest after December with 34 shows.

Complete statistics of the tour HERE
