Yes, you can believe it... to celebrate 25 years of PWL, the greatest names in Stock Aitken Waterman history (well, aside from Kylie obviously) are back!

Steps, Jason Donovan, Sinitta and Sonia are among a host of Stock Aitken Waterman acts that will perform at a special reunion concert this summer.

The gig will bring together nearly all the artists who found fame on the PWL record label to mark its 25th anniversary.

Rick Astley, Bananarama, Pepsi and Shirlie and Brother Beyond will also feature on the line-up.

The concert will take place in London's Hyde Park on 11 July.

Fans can also expect appearances from Dead or Alive, Princess, Hazell Dean, Sybil, Lonnie Gordon and 2 Unlimited, while the concert will be headlined by Steps.

Organisers said the gig would be a "celebration of the hit single" as the performing acts have between them sold 250 million singles.

They also said a "very special duet" which was last performed 23 years ago would form part of the show.

Jason Donovan and Kylie Minogue's hit Especially For You was a hit for the pair at the end of the 1980s.

More acts set to join the bill will be announced shortly, while some proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to Cancer Research UK.

Mike Stock, Matt Aitken and Pete Waterman are considered one of the most successful songwriting and producing partnerships of all time, scoring more than 100 UK top 40 hits during the 1980s and 1990s.

Waterman said: "I've been saying no for years to a Hit Factory concert but now, 25 years on, the timing feels right."

A tour of all the SAW stars minus Kylie is like N'Sync reuniting without Justin Timberlake

Kylie was somewhat - and by some margin - their most famous act.

Lol @ it being "headlined" by Steps!

This is a good line-up regardless of the lack of Kylie, I'd go just to see Steps!

Kylie is to Madonna, what Prince is to Michael Jackson.

Bananarama on their biggest day are no Kylie - Stock, Aitken, Waterman are primarily known for being cheesy pop music specialists. And whenever people discuss them, they almost always mention Kylie only, as if Kylie was bigger than the whole outfit, as it were.

Yes, Kylie would be headlining if they could get her (there are rumours she'll be there to do a duet with Jason though) but Steps are a perfectly viable headline act for this gig. It's not like they are trying to push Sonia or Sinitta as the big draw...

^^ For the third time in a row I repeat that back than Bananarama were not less famous than Kylie!!

If you consider their whole career yes Kylie is nowdays the most famous and recognizable act.

You've basically said what I said. But as per usual, like to make a big fuss about it.

My use of "was" infers that they no longer regularly write together [Stock, Aitken and Waterman] and my following "is their most famous act" infers the present situation - Kylie is the most famous act of a trio of writers that no longer write regularly.

NOW MOVE ON, THANK YA VERY MUCH! 8-)

and Divine - drag queen legend who gave them their first big hit Think Like A Man - who died in 88. I would hope they could pay respect to him somehow.
Reynolds Girls better be there!

2 Unlimited only did an instrumental on PWL that was only tweaked by Pete Waterman, wasn't even produced by SAW so that's an odd one! Are Ray and Anita gonna turn up and just ad-lib over the track?

Cancelled:

http://www.standard.co.uk/news/london/h ... 32242.html

"Dear All,
I'm truly devastated that the show has been cancelled. Artists, performers, friends, and our unbelievably loyal and supportive fans have travelled far and wide to be part of this special celebration. So many people have put their heart and soul into making this happen. Thank you for your support….25 years and despite the cancellation, let the music live on."

Shame! I heard ticket prices went as low as a tenner though, so maybe it was poor sales and this is an excuse?

Was thinking the same thing.

Pete Waterman loves to put a positive spin on everything.
