Whitney Houston's official cause of death was due to accidental drowning, a source close to the investigation tells PEOPLE.

The singer, 48, was also found to have cocaine in her system at the time of her death, the source confirms. Contributing factors of her death included heart disease and cocaine use, an investigation found.

Houston was found unresponsive and underwater in a bathtub at the Beverly Hilton Hotel on Feb. 11, a day before the Grammy Awards, and was pronounced dead at the scene soon afterward.

Coroner officials previously confirmed that prescription pill bottles were found in her room, but the number of pills were "not in alarming amounts."

Houston, who had long battled drug addiction, was laid to rest on Feb. 19 at the Fairview Cemetery in Westfield, N.J., alongside her father, following a star-studded memorial the day before.

Her cause of death was an accidental drowning, no matter what was in her system!

Let's get off the cocaine, because she according to the reports she had Metabolites, Marijuana, Alprazolam (Xanax), Cyclobenzaprine (Flexeril) and Diphenhydramine (Benadryl).

Don't jump on cocaine, if you can't get on big pharmaceuticals. And they're calling it an accidental drowning. People had died from that after taking muscle relaxers, which she had in her system.

Yeah but if she wasnt with drugs in her system the outcome would have been different. Bottom of line she was still a cocaine user/addicted.
I had hope she was cleaned... Anyway i doesnt matter now.

I'm not denying what cocaine can do to your system, but I won't let Big Pharma off the hook. Benadryl makes you sleepy! Benadryl alone with heart disease could have taken her out with that accident---and she had a muscle relaxer and anti-depressant too. Don't just make cocaine, the big bad player, when other things were too. Big Pharma prescription drugs is the #1 drug addiction in the U.S., not cocaine.

Heart disease is the #1 killer of women in the U.S. Any additional medicine could contribute to a deadly reaction.

She drowned.

Lorenzo why would you name the topic "Whitney's cause of death, Accidental Drowning & Cocaine" when the article clearly states that her cause of death was accidental drowning.

The article is titled "Whitney Houston Died From Accidental Drowning."

So...why did you do that?

And plus, if there is anything you need know about cocaine, it's that it won't put you to sleep.

It'll give you a heart attack. But it won't put you in a stupor....

Mentioning cocaine in the thread title makes it more interesting, even if it isn't entirely true. Headlines do it all the time.

Thank you!

The coroner is trying to contribute cocaine and heart disease to her drowning. Hmmm...marijuana makes you sleepy, benadryl makes you sleepy, Xanax helps calms the effects...Metabolites...Antibiotics, many make you sleepy. I smell worry about the effects from Big Pharmaceutical companies, so the blame is placed on an illegal drug and a chronic disease.

Yes it is. Sadly, millions of middle aged Americans have this same amount of prescription drugs in their body from diabetes, heart disease, hypertension and pain....and it's nothing.

Ain't nobody crying....

I'm just speaking the truth.

I can see them changing the headline though...People probably changed the headline because they were INCORRECT and probably could've gotten sued.

But about changing the story.

Why would they change an entire story? How could they change an entire story when it's already been published and released...?

Sensationalistic journalism and lying are--more or less--one and the same.

We teach our children not to lie. And yet...here we go: indulging in lies.

Regardless...I'm beginning to get very, very suspiscious.

How was all of this stuff in her system at one time? How did she get her hands on all of this stuff in such a relatively close, relatively short amount of time?

If her heart was already weak, how did she get all of this in her system and not collapse at a previous date?

Hmmm....

I'm sorry but the entertainment industry is moving beyond the territory of shady.

There's something about these "parties" that's just really bizarre and unnatural.

I don't get what you're trying to say (especially in your previous post).

She had the money and she was an addict. So it must have been easy for her to find a way to obtain the drugs.
