Great Songs For When You Are Angry?

Couldn't find this topic (if someone finds it, let me know and I'll lock).

What are some great tunes to listen to when you feel upset and just want to blow off steam? They are the kind of songs that take the edge off.

Here are my initial thoughts:

Limp Bizkit - Break Stuff
Cee-Lo Green - F*** You
Three Days Grace - I Hate Everything About You
Alanis Morissette - You Oughta Know
"And keep reaching for the stars...." Casey Kasem, American Top 40

Agreed with "Break Stuff".

I also find "One Step Closer" (Linkin Park) to be quite effective. The "shut up when I'm talking to you" bridge is quite therapeutic.

I guess you could have a similar therapeutic experience in the last minute of Rage Against The Machine's 'Killing In The Name'

My ultimate angry anthem is definitely 30 Seconds To Mars' 'Attack', nothing gets me hyped up like that track!

Yes! Korn's "Right Now" too.

Heavy Metal music in general is just great for this purpose! When I went through my "I only listen to metal" phase ( ), I used to enjoy listening to Korn's "Take A Look In the Mirror" and their first two albums when I felt angry. Machine Head, Megadeath, Slayer...

I don't mean to generalise so much, but I must admit that all the people I knew in High School who were really into metal or other heavy music had emotional issues.

They say a dog reflects the owner, I think music does somewhat too.

I guess I was quite angry at that point in my life, and metal was just really good escapism for me. Now I'm pretty happy with my life and I listen to sugary pop music.

So, I guess music does reflect personality/emotional state for some people!

If I'm angry (which doesn't really happen a lot these days), I'll pop on the Incubus album S.C.I.E.N.C.E. & (possibly) listen to these tunes:

Glass
New Skin (This one is a particular fave, definitely one of my fave songs of their's period.)
Vitamin
Idiot Box

Or sometimes I'll just put Make Yourself on and listen to Pardon Me. I've listened to that one when I've been frustrated - was kind of an anthem for me for the first few months of my 23rd year of life. (Felt frustrated in the job I had at the time.)

When I'm angry and upset, I always listen to
Vertebrae By Vertebrae by Björk.
With such lines as 'please release this pressure off me', 'let off some steam' and 'i have been filled with steam for months for years / same old cloud claustrophobic in me', this is undoubtedly the ultimate 'angry song' for me.

That just HAS to be the ultimate! I don't really GET angry myself, but maybe Puddle Of Mudd - She Hates Me would work as well.

^ :o next time i will try this one, it seems like a universal medicine

-Foo Fighters - The Pretender : "what if i say i m not like the others, What if I say I'm not just another one of your plays? You're the pretender What if I say that I will never surrender?..."
-Foo Fighters - Long Road To Ruin : " For every piece to fall in place forever gone without a trace Your horizon takes its shape No turnin' back, don't turn that page... "
-The Fray - You Found Me : " I've been callin' for years and years and years and years and you never left me no messages you never send me no letters you got some kinda nerve taking all I want."
-Queen - Bohemian Rhapsody

sometimes when i m angry at God/life/fate, i put them^ on

-Eminem & Lil Wayne : " B*tch you get no love "
^this is for some people.
What if we choose to exist in a reality of our own making, does that render us insane, and if so, isn't that better than a life of despair?
