Thank You has become her 2nd Hot 100 hit! It peaked at #100 actually. :lol:

Anyway, Moving Montains short of killing Usher's career cos all singles started from that one flopped, Here I Stand also underperformed. Until he cameback with OMG.
Hold You Down also killed J.Lo's career, after that single, she failed to score any hit at all, until On The Floor.

But somehow this sounds like one hit = huge comeback/career saved.
To me a career is running good, if you've got constant success and I'm not sure whether this fits to both artists.

Plus, the current albums of both artists haven't been real chart smashers. Raymond vs Raymond sold around the number of Here I Stand and Love? sold more than Brave but not miles more. If the artists really had successful comebacks, their albums would've been able return to numbers that were usual for both artists or even reach new career highs.

Okay, this could be extended to the whole "Painting It Red" album, which was such a spectacular letdown that they would never recover - their chart positions just went down and down ever since, however fantastic their material was. All because of one frankly shocking era!

Honeyz - I Don't Know

Good song but far too weak for a comeback single. If they wanted to go with a ballad for the first single from the second album, they really should have gone with 'Just As I Am'. Even 'Love Is Strange' or 'Best Man' would have been better choices.

Also, I hope I'm wrong, but many might see 'Untouchable' as the song that killed Girls Aloud

(never thought I'd say that with such an amazing song) But with the comeback on the cards I'm really hoping that isn't true.

Also, 'Dirrty' is one of Christina's signature tunes here and a very significant moment cited in her career, I can't imagine that era having played out any other way.

Xtina is very capable of beating Britney in that era but then she whore herself out. Artistically it did good to her, but success and sales wise, it didn't help. Yeah, Stripped has sold 10-12m worldwide, 4-5x platinum in the US, etc. etc.

But she is VERY CAPABLE at that time to even land in the 20m mark.

Ok, it didn't kill her career obviously, but it sure did kill the momentum for Xtina to achieve even greater heights in her career.

And as for "Baby", it's the song that made him very popular and at the same time very popular as a punch line. So I don't know, the effect became even worse.

And Born This Way era was a mess, the title track was the only solid hit. But Lady Gaga would be around for a very long time. Like Beyonce, they need to do mainstream music asap.

I don't think Dirty killed her career at all. I remember that period very well and Xtina was everywhere ,everyone was talking about her transformation from good teen idol to whore. :lol:

She kept blabbing about it too. Anyway,she had huge hits, great sales, tour and everything in that era. I remember being annoyed cause it felt like Britney was fading away and Xtina and other newbies taking over (Avril,Shakira). :lol:
