I don't know exactly HOW they did it as quickly as they did, but 1D have already successfully tapped into the screaming-fanatical-teenage-girl demographic here. the girls who will run out the day an album's released and buy as many copies as their allowances allow. like I said, I don't know how they did it already, but their US promo schedule shows that they're aimed at that demographic: touring with Big Time Rush (Nickelodeon's Jonas Brothers), iCarly, the Kids' Choice Awards.Star wrote:One Direction didn't seem to have that problem. This EP thing is a sign that they don't think they're gonna do too well.
I'd understand an EP if they didn't have a hit, like Ellie Goulding for example. But they have a massive single out.
This isnt' about 1D plus they appeal to a completely different audience. And like i said before im sure a "Proper Album" will come out eventually "DEF JAM RECORDS" knows what they;re doing.megahanna wrote:1D didn't have the same problem because Columbia records decided to release the album a week earlier after seeing great demand from fans to release it early. It was at this point that their label were confident that their album would do well because of huge demand. Sadly The Wanted don't seem to be getting huge demand.
The fact that The Wanted are releasing an EP shows that the label aren't confident that it will do well even though they have a hit single imo. Their EP hasn't even surfaced on the iTunes 100 USA albums which shows that their preorders are very low. As soon as 1D announced the release date for their album the preorders were so high that it entered on the top 50 on itunes.
Exactly! Stupid decision not to include it on the EP they're going to release...Jesper wrote:I never understood why that was just a deluxe track, I mean it may be not completely their sound, but it is something to get a easy hit with imo.Noahh wrote:I would've definitely included Turn It Off (would do very good in the US I think),
Yep exactlyGetBack wrote:Like what I said, this EP thing worked for Bieber, it made people warm up to his music, and when he released the full album, he became a superstar, so I don't think it's wrong for them to do the same, especially since the US isn't their territory to begin with.
Bieber is all hype. He has no true hits in the US. He has never even had a single top 10 hit on the radio. The EP idea for this band is a horrible idea.GetBack wrote:Like what I said, this EP thing worked for Bieber, it made people warm up to his music, and when he released the full album, he became a superstar, so I don't think it's wrong for them to do the same, especially since the US isn't their territory to begin with.
I disagree, Baby was a big hit. Plus its not Hype considering he can get Multi Platinum Albums with next to No Airplaysnwbrder757 wrote:Bieber is all hype. He has no true hits in the US. The promo is alright. I just hoped they would do some more tv shows/performances. Hopefully they can do as good as One Direction did the first week, although that seems unlikely. It should do 100K + though!Dino wrote:Their Ep is out next week on tuesday![]()
