Surprised there's no thread about this scandalous case that's shaking US last few days.

The whole thing is beyond outrageous. The murderer is not even arrested or charged cause of some silly self defense law. Shouldn't the murderer at least PROVE that it was self defense?? Police just took his word for it. :o

Basically he was killed cause he was a black kid in a rich white neighborhood wearing a hoodie. How typical. The fact all of this is happening in a country that brags so much about it's human rights and democracy makes it even worse.

It's silly these people have an armed guard lurking around every night so that their precious wealth is kept safe. I wouldn't feel safe on a street where an armed man is driving around every night and looking for ''suspicious'' characters

Lord, let justice reign!

This is what I speak about, when people are clueless about the dynamics of race in the U.S. The shooter was a psycho, but the cops didn't care do any further investigation, for the obvious reason of being a black male---disposable in their eyes.

I'm so happy Obama reminded the nation, that his son would look a lot like Trayvon.

JSparksFan once said we have no racism in the US. Naive beyond measure. I've signed the petition and am marching in the million hoodie march tomorrow!

Racism is alive and well in the US. It isn't going anywhere.

I haven't looked into the case that much but from what I can see it's clear that the poor kid was killed just for being black :x So sad and sickening.

For all those that think the black man has no struggle, read this informative essay about what I grew up knowing: the Black man's code.

It's a sad burden for black parents to warn their kids for another generation about "being black while breathing" in America.

It's a shame. These are experiences that my grandmother and mother spoke of, it is happening in a generation beyond me. Sadly, these stories are no different from my gg-grandparents generation. But, idiot boxes like to live in denial.

I almost posted this topic...but I decided to wait and see. People seem to be able to post anything and everything...so I was waiting to see if this would get any attention.

It took a while...but whatever.

I've been hosting my own private march: wearing hoodies for every day for the past week and a half is no joke.

Prosecute the killer of our son, 17-year-old Trayvon Martin - Petition has 1,836,772 signatures

This is so shocking and sad, especially when you read how everybody much loved him and how great guy he was :(

This has made me cry

3 people say they believe Trayvon Martin cried for help before he was shot.Three witnesses contacted by The Miami Herald say they saw or heard the moments before and after the Miami Gardens teenager’s killing. All three said they heard the last howl for help from a despondent boy, and believe the sequence of sounds shatters the notion that Trayvon was killed in self defense.

As the controversy grows, so does the number of voices disputing the official version that watch captain George Zimmerman gave to police: that the 6-foot, 3-inch, 140-pound teen assaulted him when Zimmerman, 28, tried to question him.
You can´t buy happiness. But it´s always better to cry in limo then in bus.

What a shame...

The 911 tapes I posted have background noises of someone screaming. And then two gunshots. What a shame...

I just don't understand how are you going to call 911 when Trayvon and Zimmerman were wrestling on his back porch, someone was screaming for help and say that you're not going down there...

People are such cowards.

Agreed.

The amount of racial stereotyping that's still present is disgusting.

This case is so heartbreaking. I just feel like that could've been any young African American (including myself). I usually hate and try my best to not blame things on racism but with this case you just can't.

One of the black residents in that neighborhood said that Zimmerman followed her husband home before.

Sadly, the police were not proactive at all. It was a closed case when they heard it was a black man.

But if you hear two people wrestling in your backyard and one of them is screaming "Help!" then something is wrong with you.

That man should be charged with criminal negligence.

Trayvon Martin could've be alive if the man had just seen what was going on in his backyard...

My exact words...

Either way, I'm really sad to hear that this happened. Just yesterday my mom called me to read about it. :(

JSparksFan - Obama barely won the election. Don't get it twisted. If you compare the general population, he didn't win by that many points.

Actually, the hate crimes have increased after Obama. In my city, the Houston police documented that the hate crimes have risen. One white and latino cop told one of my cousins point blank, "We don't give a d*mn if Obama is president."

The "sheets" and hate has come out of the woodwork, since a black man is in office. Black folks compared Clinton's presidency to a black man's experience, because of the way the Republicans treated him. Obama is getting much worse treatment.

Like I already said, for me it's sick to have a paid hitman wandering around your street during night just to protect their oh so valuable material stuff. I wouldn't feel safe on that street even if I lived there if someone is lurking around and searching for ''suspicious'' people.

Witness: Zimmerman 'never ... tried to help' Trayvon Martin

http://usnews.msnbc.msn.com/_news/2012/ ... von-martin

Mary Cutcher told Dateline that she and her roommate both saw Zimmerman "straddling the body, basically a foot on both sides of Trayvon's body, and his hands pressed on his back."

Cutcher added that Zimmerman told her and her roommate to call the police.

"Zimmerman never turned him over or tried to help him or CPR or anything," Cutcher said.

^ Now that, ginnyfan, is about the gun laws in America.

America puts on a really good show for the world but in actuality it has problems that third world countires don't even have...

But don't get it twisted, Mona. There have been hate crimes committed by black people.

Racial tensions have been very, very heated ever since Obama became president.

All you need to do is read the comments to every other Youtube video or online news report.

@Titan3510 I'm aware on hate on all sides. And I'm not necessarily against guns. For city living, I can understand restrictions, but for rural areas, I can't let bears get me.
