Danavon, do you think you could do me a favour and please post the weekly chart position and sales of Avril Lavignes Goodbye Lullaby since it was released, as there's been weeks where we haven't known the sales and chart positions? Hope you can help, thanks!

Question:

Why is Mariah's Daydream certified 12xplatinum for 2,400,000 copies shipped to retailers when in fact it sold 2,200,000. This means it is said to have shipped only 200,000 copies via imports.

Merry Christmas for example has sold 2,090,000 copies and its total sales are 2,700,000. It has thus sold 600,000 imported copies.

Other examples: Music Box - 700,000 imported copies
Butterfly - 550,000 imported copies
#1s - 800,000 imported copies

200,000 imports for Daydream seems to be a too small number. All of her other 90s albums have sold WAY more imports.

Shouldn't Daydream's total sales top 2,800,000 (2,200,000 + ~600,000 imports) then? Daydream is her only album for which Sony Music Japan has not reported a total sales number.

I know it takes a lot but could you say to me which album is the longest to stay in the Japanese Albums Chart's top 10 and which one in the entire chart?
And perhaps the chart runs of those albums?

That would really mean a lot to me :D ...

Hello Danavon,

Do you know about Pink Floyd'd DVDs sales in Japan?

I think that "Pulse" and "The Wall" sold very well.

I think that it would be bcause a radio stations is actively launching promotion of her works and she came to Japan this month and appeared in TV programs actively. :P

Thank you! :D Makes sense... it's strange to see a foreign song perform so well on digital sales outside of Gaga / Avril / Che'Nelle!

I looked on the Hot 100 website, and it's also not in the Top 100 airplay.

So it's not in the top 100 airplay and never reached the top 100 on iTunes (right? 'Cuz I'm assuming this is why you're confused)... so what made it chart

Perhaps its airplay was not high enough to reach the top 100 airplay, and its sales weren't high enough to chart high on iTunes, but together they managed to overtake some of the songs above it which were strong ("strong") on one format but not on the other?

Does that make sense?
