I guess his first radio update will be huuuuge because I think every radio channel wants to be first to play his (anticipatedly) new single, right?

Yep, for sure. It will be interesting because the first update will show just how much hype there is around the song since there hasn't been news of a Clear Channel deal (or atleast I haven't heard about one) so the update will be purely off the hype and requests. I remember Hold It Against Me got over 20 million on its first day last year w/o a clear channel deal so let's see how Justin will fare.

HIAM got 9.074 million first day with 619 spins on Pop. Justin's first day was even better.

He has clearly a radio deal.

Rihanna's Only Girl has had 4,5m AI in the first day, without a radio deal.

Don't act like he was a radio favourite. His singles pretty much flopped there.

We dont know if he has a deal, but that's huge. It could be that radii is on him now since his image has matured.

Do you think so even Kattys POM first update and wasnt that huge and shes one of the current radio queens, clearly he has the deal.....

Perry's Part Of Me has had also a deal, but it wasnt made public too. The following week, Part Of Me received a HUGE rolling update loosing more than 8m AI for three days~.

The same thing will happen to the Biebster.

But she got high airplay because of Grammy hype and the fact that she was debuting a brand new song. Then, rolling came along after the hype was gone.

Look, I'm not saying there isn't a deal, we just don't know for sure if there is or isn't. It's all speculation until it's confirmed by someone or something.

You ever saw an update with over 9m AI without a deal?

Neither Adele could do that much, considering she never had a radio deal.

I love how his team has never put too much focus on the single success, and has always diverted attention to his albums. I expect 2x P atleast with this album, or maybe 3x P.

I mean... Currently it's really hard to get 3xP and even 2xP will be hard... I mean there are some really big albums (Gaga, Katy, Rihanna,...) which didn't get 3xP (and some no 2xP too) so why should Bieber get 3xP?

HIAM didn't had the deal, and we don't know does Justin have the deal or not. I'm sure that all singles in future from big stars will have huge first day updates coz now there's more radio stations than one year ago.

To put the earlier debate to rest, if he does have a deal it is not with Cleat Channel. I've been listening to my local CC channel (104.3) and they've not promoted the song and have played it once... Contrary to the endless, looped promo and spins with UD1 or GMAYL by Madonna.

Katy didnt get it either with PoM. Unless it isnt with Clear Channel.
