Deadmau5: "F* off Madonna you f*ing idiot"

Deadmau5 has slammed Madonna over her reference to the drug ecstasy.

The 'Girl Gone Wild' singer was on stage at the Ultra Music Festival in Miami on Saturday (March 24) to introduce Avicii when she used the term Molly - slang for MDMA.

MDMA is the active chemical in ecstasy that has often been linked to electronic dance music (EDM) concerts. MDNA is also the title of the pop singer's new album, which debuted in store today.

She asked the crowd at the festival: "How many people in this crowd have seen molly?" Madonna's question was cheered on by the audience at the festival.

Deadmau5, an EDM DJ-producer, posted on Facebook: "Very classy there Madonna. 'HUR DUR HAS ANYONE SEEN MOLLY???' Such a great message for the young music lovers at ULtra (sic).

"Quite the f'n philanthropist. But hey, at least yer HIP AND TRENDY! F***ing cant smack my head hard enough right now."

Deadmau5 added: "Seriously, I giveth not a f**king single F**K for slating on Madonna for reaching an entirely NEW level of idiocy ... i can appriciate her meteoric career, and all good deeds done, but WHAT THE F**K WAS THAT?

"That's your big contribution to EDM? Thats your big message to ultra attendies? Hipsterspeak for looking for drugs? F**k off you f***ing IDIOT. F**k."

The DJ-producer called her comments "unnecessary promotion of the s**t that really held EDM down for years".

Deadmua5 later offered a summary of his thoughts over Madonna's Molly comment on his Tumblr.

He stated: "Now, we've taken EDM so far in the past decade, so goddamned far. It really hurts me to see rampant ADVOCATION of extreme bulls**t lifestyles to a genre that spans pretty much any age gap these days."

Madonna's listeners and show attendees are massively middle aged men. If they are influenced enough at that age to go do drugs just because Madonna asked them if they have seen Molly, they deserve death by overdose.

in a sense, deadmau5 is entitled to his opinion. Like it or not, Madonna genre-hops to what she thinks is hip right now, deadmau5 is passionate about his genre and excessive drug use is something that keeps EDM from being taken more seriously because of the stereotype that people only listen to it in the clubs getting high.
