that's actually a great point! the primary reason that particular song helped make me a Mariah fan was the fact that I loooved 98 Degrees before I fell in love with Mariah

also, I guess I think of "Thank God" as just a figure of speech...even I still use it sometimes, although I know Mariah uses it in a more devoted way because of her beliefs. even though "God" is in the title and chorus, it's never felt that TGIFY was as religious as her actual gospel songs like "Fly Like A Bird" or "I Wish You Well".

wow, fantastic debut for "For The Record"

it's definitely one of the gems on E=MC2 and it's not quite as cookie-cutter as some of her other ballads (like "I Stay In Love", although I do love that one too). a part of me thinks that FTR might have been a smarter second single choice than "Bye Bye".

"Cruise Control", on the other hand, is one of the more forgettable E=MC2 moments. her fake accent is a bit embarassing too. :oops:

The only thing I know about 98 Degrees is that Nick Lachey was a part of the group. Are they any good? I must check them out. But whatever the reason, I'm glad you like "Thank God I Found You". :wink:

I haven't really listened to their stuff in years, my obsession with them was definitely more of a teenage-infatuation-situation. their biggest hits were "Because Of You", "The Hardest Thing", and "Give Me Just One Night (Una Noche)". although they weren't anywhere near as successful as *NSYNC or BSB, I do think 98 Degrees were the best vocalists.

Yes, I love that song too! However, the entire album was a hot, hot mess, so I doubt we might be hearing anything else from Allison, which is a shame since she's really talented.

I can't picture Jordin singing something like this but I certainly wouldn't be averse to her taking a more R&B route with her next record. As far as for Nicki and Chris, if he and RiRi could collaborate, then I don't think anything else could really shock me.

As one would expect, that lengthy-named record belongs to Ms. Britney Jean Spears, who, on two occasions (March 20th and March 21st of 2011) placed fourteen songs in my Top 20 due to the Femme Fatale hype.

Another interesting record Britney holds is having an entire Top 8 comprised only of her tracks, which she accomplished on March 20th, 2011. No other artist has has shown such dominance as Britney did during that March, 2011 time frame. At least, not until now. :wink:
