So Confessions has yet to hit the 10 million mark!? I really thought that he already did back in 2006.leoapp wrote:Confessions is not the best selling album in US of the 00s. But it's the last best selling album in US of the 00s, released in 2004.

Right, Norah outsold him, as did Eminem in 2002.Timmy94 wrote:And what's with Norah Jones' Come Away With Me?danbarj wrote:Best selling US album released this century (2001 on).jpguy wrote:what record is he talking about then?
Thats not the record, hes talking about.NothingFails wrote:Right, Norah outsold him, as did Eminem in 2002.Timmy94 wrote:And what's with Norah Jones' Come Away With Me?danbarj wrote:Best selling US album released this century (2001 on).jpguy wrote:what record is he talking about then?
Anyways, the industry NEEDS another diamond selling album, something to get people to shut up about the "sales are dead" thing.
I'd say its time for another diamond album. It has been eight years. His album is still technically at 9.9 million Soundscan, as is Linkin Park's Hybrid Theory and Pearl Jam's Ten, all three should pass 10 million Soundscan by years end, but Eminem is the most recent album to actually pass 10 million Soundscan, and he just did that last fall, before that it was Norah's album.RapUpPlayer wrote:Thats not the record, hes talking about.NothingFails wrote:Right, Norah outsold him, as did Eminem in 2002.Timmy94 wrote:And what's with Norah Jones' Come Away With Me?danbarj wrote:Best selling US album released this century (2001 on).jpguy wrote:what record is he talking about then?

His album was the last one, that went diamond.
For Confessions? Really?Mylostlenore wrote:Nice advertising Usher.
I thought and think Confessions is music gold! I think 21 is overrated, though the singles have been everything and that 19 is the better album.sambo9 wrote:I thought "Confessions" was crap personally. It's the only CD I've ever returned.I do think "21" is overhyped though.
I can't believe that Usher's been an artist for 18 years now, such a long time already! I can still remember the My Way era, I was still 9-10 years old, my goodness, it was his best for me, one of the best R&B albums of the 1990s!danbarj wrote:For Confessions? Why does everything have to be shade by another artist or a form of self-promotion?
It was a joke. He could probably care LESS what happens! It doesn't take away from the Confessions era, his legend nor the CAREER of over 18 years that he has!
Certainly was... it does amaze me how long he's been in the game and with monumental success with singles, albums and touring! He's a megastar!GetBack wrote:I can't believe that Usher's been an artist for 18 years now, such a long time already! I agree. And if stans can throw around the "legend" term with those two then he definitely deserves the title.NothingFails wrote:I don't think Usher gets enough credit as a "survivor". We're so quick to point out how Britney and Beyonce are vets, Usher was around before them. I think we take for granted how long he's been a big name.
Confessions is good...but it does have a lot of filler.danbarj wrote:I thought and think Confessions is music gold! I am glad, however, that both albums smashed at their respective times!
Beyoncé isn't a legend, nor is Usher. The word is so overused these days. Britney at least impacted Pop Music, but even though Usher is very skilled at what he does, I hugely doubt he will ever be seen as a "Legend", maybe more as someone that was very successful.therealestMC wrote:I agree.
