Maroon 5 :: The "Hands All Over" Era

To me I'd call Recovery, Speak Now or Need You Now huge... Sigh No More, My Kinda Party and in some way Teenage Dream (although that one with some concessions made as the album fell off compared to the immense single successes) would also count.

I didn't say that Hands All Over didn't do well but I'd call huge really what was among the year's best charting/selling albums and Hands All Over was a bit far of that...

The album looked like flopping at first and thanks to Moves Like Jagger, it's selling moderately/decently.
Calling it huge is just a big mistake looking at its sales and its chart run, especially compared to the band's last 2 albums (which I would call Songs About Jane huge and It Won't Be Soon Before Long successful).
You shouldnt forget, that reaching Platinum is also a milestone for an artist. It is huge. MLJ saved this Album to reach 1m+.

You can't compare everything to the past. Their popularity clearly decreased over the years. Same goes to Beyonce, Alicia Keys etc etc. There are more factors to look at.. But it's pretty pointless to discuss it.

It's crazy!!
its not that crazy really considering the facts that probably 99 000 of those havent even bought the song at all. The scandinavian single charts is for more then 95 % based on free streamings. One free play counts the same as a itunes download and the if one person listen to a song 50 times, it still counts as 50 copies. Therfore, a bunch of songs in the charts are certified with multiplatinum, some of then havent even hit the top 10. So yes, its a popular hit here, but you cant take the numbers serious as its nowway near the same as in other countries based on Itunes
