I want Bruno to make R&B music. Stuff like It Will Rain...

And I want it to have a bit of a lyrical edge in it. And since we have an abundance of sex ballads, he should stay away from making those...

What about Europe??

He'd flop on a WW scale if he went strictly R&B.

I don't know...

...I just think soul music suits Bruno better than pop music does...

And, you said so yourself....he can't do another old school album...

How much did Bruno sell outside of the US by the way?

According to MusicCharts.net, the album's at 5.7 million WW, and only about 1.6 million of that is from the States.

And yeah, Soul music definitely suits him better, but there are other ways of going around that, rather than reverting to R&B.

Plus there are a ton of male R&B artists out there already, there's nothing new he'll be bringing to the table, on that end.

Like what?

I don't agree. Bruno can certainly do his own thing and have his own style and still be a credible male R&B artist with his own fanbase...

And the whole electro-soul thing that you were talking about? Wouldn't that basically end up being R&B?

All I'm saying is that he should try it. It Will Rain and his R&B tracks are better than a lot of the throwback pop/rock songs on Doo Wops and Hooligans.

He could help R&B be an actually profitable genre again....

It was a joke...

You didn't see my wink emoticon...

Then again, it's an inside joke. So it's going to look weird from the outside...

Which R&B tracks are you referring to? Apart from Nothin on You (which is legit amazing)....

Electro-Soul i'm thinking of doesn't necessarily have to be R&B. I can't think of any examples at the moment though.

To be honest...I feel the same way.

Outside of Nothin' On You and Talking To The Moon, I can't think of any examples either...

Not by name at least. A good chunk of his unreleased songs are R&B though....

If you count "Climax" as an electro-soul track, then I could really see Bruno doing stuff like that and making it a huge hit.

PS: Titan did you read my PM?

I think the second album might be a bit of jazz because he just said on twitter that Esperanza Spalding is the person he wanted to collabrate with next

Well I mean not the autotuned vocals, but more like the sound/vibe/productions of 808's & Heartbreak...

Exactly.

Can you imagine his vocals over the production on Heartless, Love Lockdown or Paranoid. I'd die.

So long as we don't get a rehash of the DW&H sound, or a bunch of run-of-the-mill R&B songs, i'm good.
