lol you really want to prove your point, Adele is a Phenomenal that comes once in a while, its like the come on over (shania twain) of this generation..
Of course, because Adele is unique, diferent from all the crap pop music in the top 40. So was and still is Madonna.
She was and still is but she didnt manage dominate the albums market like Adele is dominating now
What do you mean? Now or before? Because from 83 to 90 yes she did! Just like adele is doing now, in the charts i mean, because they are completely diferent artists
Yes, that's what I think so.. I guess someone needs to do some research -not you of course- and see that she really was all over the market with her first albums, even with more recent stuff like "ray of light" and "coadf" still managed to sell extremely well.. yes, I know these albums are not 20 million but certainly were huge after 15 and 22 years of career..

Yes Madonna ruled but defenitely didn't have a single album which can touch Adele 21 supremacy and let me tell yo that no one has it.....at the end of the game 21 chart success will be second only to Thriller.

Now what about to end these OT and move on guys :P
Can't agree with you on this, but lets move on, at least that conversation about lady who as died :)

Does she have an album that has spend more than 20 wks @ #1 of the billboard 200, more than 25 wks @ #1 ww, more than 50 wks in the top 5 of the B200,best selling album ww and in the US for 2 conservative years, album @ 1 with its first three single also being @ #1 for some given weeks, etc if we compared BTW to 21 its like comparing Ray of light with Come on over

Shania Twain with Come On Over, Alanis Morissette with Jagged Little Pill, Norah Jones with Come Away with Me dominated the market like Adele with 21.
I.e. they had an album selling like crazy, followed by an album selling less than a half, and then the oblivion or a repeatedly announced comeback album.
Hope the best for Adele, she's funny and talented.

Like A Virgin sold better in US than in the rest of the world, True Blue did the opposite.
Ray Of Light itself sold much less than many albums released in the 90s, and so did Music or COADF.
But all combined they create an unique career, hard to match. By Adele or every male or female act from now on.

I dont disagree with what your saying but I have problem with comparing True blues sales to that of BTW, according to a previous post (by Dragonn) we cant use the lagging album ww sales as an excuse because 21 just crossed its 20 millionth copy last week

84%. Still, she sold 174k in her 2nd week and stayed at #1... And above 100k on 3rd week... Just saying.
And less than 50k fourth week so from 1.2 million to less than 50k in four weeks.......Just saying.

HC sold more than 250K.
CLB 210K to date.
Not bad at all :P
Hope MDNA will have a leg there and that a Tour announcement will help.
