A new single or album thread should not be opened in Pure Pop unless it has been confirmed by one of the following media outlets...
UKMIX OFFICIAL REPUTABLE SOURCE LIST
- USA-BASED SOURCES
- All Access Future Release Schedule (NOT 'Cool New Music')
- Z100, KISS FM or other high profile US radio stations
- MTV
- BET
UK-BASED SOURCES
- BBC Radio 1
- BBC Radio 2
- Chart Analysis Release Schedule Thread
AUS-BASED SOURCES
- AuspOp
- Channel [V]
INTERNATIONAL SOURCES
- The artist's official facebook/twitter page
- The artist's official website
- The artist's record company (directly, not via another source)
All previous rules identified since 2005 are still in place:
- 1) Do not start a new topic claiming song x to be the new single/album from artist y unless you can back it up with a credible source (preferably with a link).
If you still wish to post something that speculates on a future release, please use the General Artist Thread or dedicated album thread for the given artist.
2) Do not post or request download links to music files, particularly those hosted by the likes of rapidshare, yousendit, youshareit etc. UKMix is not an mp3 trading board, and association with the aforementioned services can result in the website being shut down.
Links to snippets, or direct streams hosted by legitimate sites (e.g. YouTube, SoundCloud) where the link is unlikely to be broken are fine.
Any posts contravening the above will be edited, deleted or moved to Wasteland. Action will also be taken against repeat offenders.
3) Avoid placing extraneous information within topic titles. Titles may be stylised however the OP sees fit, but moderators will remove any unnecessary information from a topic title. Exceptions include having 'album' or 'single' for releases that involve a title track (e.g. defining 'Born This Way' the album from 'Born This Way' the single).
