The Glee version of 'We Are Young' is brilliant and, dare I say, better than the original. Their version of STIUTK is okay.

Special shout out to Defying Gravity - one of my favourite songs of all time, it just has such an epic feel to it, and Chenoweth and Menzel are fanastic vocalists.

Glee Cast scores their first number-one hit on my chart this year, with "Somebody That I Used To Know". Their cover is easily the best one of Season 3 so far - to me, its even better than the original. The original charts at #25 this week, a dip from 22 last week. Jessica Sanchez and Colton Dixon, two American Idol contestants, occupy the #2 and #3 spots respectively with the studio versions of their top 7 performances. Those performances are the highlights of the current season of American Idol so far. Jessie J's new single "Laserlight" debuts in the top 10. This prompted "Domino" to receive plays this week, allowing it to re-enter in the top 15. Glee Cast and Mariah Carey dominate this week's chart. Nicki Minaj's "Va Va Voom" is the biggest faller this week, dropping 18 positions to #27. JLo's "Dance Again" falls out of the top 5 after two consecutive weeks at #1. I NEVER seem to get bored of One Direction - "What Makes You Beautiful" has spent 6 consecutive weeks in the top 5. Plenty of re-entries and new entries this week. Next week, Glee or an American Idol contestant looks likely to secure the top spot, as there's no new release that I'm particularly hyped up about.

Maroon's 5 new lead single, "Payphone" debuts straight atop my chart, with more than 50 plays over this week. The song is by far M5's best song IMO. The lyric video is one of the best lyric videos ever and it has the potential to actually be the original video. At two is a re-entry of Céline Dion's biggest hit, "My Heart Will Go On". The sudden re-entry is spurred by me watching Titanic in 3D this week. American Idol finalist Colton Dixon's rendition of "Love The Way You Lie" remains stable from last week at #3. Pink's "Raise Your Glass" bullets into the top 10. Justin Bieber's "Boyfriend", his best song to-date, debuts at #10. Mariah Carey dominates this week's chart with seven entries. "We Belong Together" spends a third consecutive week at #11. It may jump into the top 10 next week and achieve a new 2012 peak. The rendition of "Please Don't Go" by The Voice contestant, Lindsey Pavao, enters at #21. This marks the first entry by a contestant from The Voice (US) on my chart this year. Whitney's classic "How Will I Know" re-enters, and Dusty Springfield's "Son Of A Preacher Man" makes a glamorous entry at #20. One Direction's "What Makes You Beautiful" spends its thirteenth consecutive week in the top 10, with seven of them in the top 5. Next week, Maroon 5's "Payphone" seems to have a high possibility of being the chart leader again. Mariah Carey may have more entries next week as well, as I've been in the mood to spin Mariah lately.

And what a surprise #1 here! I didn't expect that to be #1, and when I checked my last.fm plays, I was shocked too. A massive 94 plays over last week, which is three times more than "Payphone"! As such, Colton Dixon's version of "Bad Romance" becomes the first ever American Idol performance to top my chart. He is also the first American Idol finalist to place four performances in the overall chart. The Voice contestants Katrina Parker, Cheesa, Lindsey Pavao, Tony Lucca all place songs in this week's top 50 as well. Mariah Carey , the queen of music, dominates this week's chart, charting a whopping fourteen entries in total. The top ten this week are mainly old classics and a few American Idol performances. Okay, the sudden debut for "...Baby One More Time" was fuelled by Tony Lucca's performance (#31), and the entry for "Bleeding Love" was fuelled by me exploring Ryan Tedder's discography. Pink experiences a massive drop of 33 places to #40 this week. Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody" makes an impressive return at #36, because of Jessica Sanchez's performance of the song on American Idol this week. Adele's "Rolling In The Deep" re-enters the top 10, as I replayed this year's Grammys, relistened to the performance and got totally hooked to it. Mariah Carey places "Butterfly" into the top 10, as "We Belong Together" fell short of achieving a new peak.
