Mariah and now Janet?
Is endorsing for a diet program the new it-thing for 90's divas?

I can already picture Christina and Britney in a weight watchers commercial in 2020, Christina maybe earlier! 8-)

There's a difference between looking young and being current.

Just listening to 'Go deep'. One of her most underated imo. Such a catchy jam, and the beat is so thumping.

Often I find new life in her music when I thump it in the car. I did it with 'So excited' the other day and it was like a whole different song.

My favorite Janet era is The Velvet Rope era...

One of my fave live performances from her... wish she'd continued to perform it after the TVR era.

Yeah, Velvet Rope was the best. the only Janet album I ever owned. Nothing before or since appealed to me.

While Janet the album is good, I must say that on the whole I prefer Damita Jo to it. :o

Same here, maybe it's because Damita Jo was released during my generation, and it was the Janet sound of 2004 but of course, janet. definitely had a stronger set of singles.

I just wish her last two albums were better. Damita Jo sadly got the backlash of the Super Bowl.

However, I do have to say 20 Y.O was boring as hell, and Disicipline (aside from "Feedback") wasn't that good at all.

I love Janet a lot (definitely in my Top 5 with Madonna, Kylie, Bon Jovi and Robbie Williams), and it's sad that since 2004 I really only like two songs, "Feedback" and "Make Me" that she has done.

If I had the choice between her catalog and Michael Jackson's, I'm taking Janet's. Easy.

I don't know why she stopped releasing singles after "Son of a Gun" during the All for You era. There were about at least 2 more hits in the making in that album (which were "Come on Get Up" and "Trust a Try").

Mariah's fault lol.
Virgin had to pay her millions to drop her.
They couldn't afford to promote Janet any longer so the promo was cut short.
Virgins biggest mistake.

Come On Get Up should have been a single. Was this why it was cancelled?

It's easily my favorite song on the album. I absolutely love it.

It's a shame because All For You is just so damn good.

'All For You' had so much more potential! There were a few potential singles on that album which have carried the album throughout 2002, and maybe it could have sold around 10M worldwide.

The industry while thriving in 2001 was really effed up. It seemed like everyone was getting three singles and nothing more, even if the album was huge (ala N'Sync and Britney). I think AFY could've had another two hit singles if Virgin didn't just think the album was spent after Son Of A Gun.
