It just seems like such a waste of water to me to be washing towels that regularly though... but then again I grew up in a drought-stricken rural area, so maybe I'm a product of my childhood environment.

I think someone made a good point on the show New Girl IIRC, "you only ever use them when you are at your cleanest" (paraphrasing)

Usually just the once!

We only use them more then once if my Mum was too lazy to do laundry and we're running out of towels

I'm honestly shocked at the amount of people only using them once or twice... do you do all that laundry? How do you afford the water/electricity/detergent? Also do you have dryers?

I don't use dryers no, and it usually takes a full day for the towels to dry fully.

I will say this - I use my towels twice, more than I use them once.

I actually own just two towels and I don't wash them as frequently as some other UKMixers.
They last like a week and a half, usually or until I go do laundry. Whichever is first.

But, I'm just as clean (I hope). I really can't imagine using a towel for just two days.
I would dirty three towels a week (maybe), and if I go do laundry every two weeks, I would need to wash 6! That is a staggering amount of towel washing. Ain't got time (or money) for that. *takes a bite out of a Burger King Chicken Wrap*

This!

I use my towel multiple times (for about a week and a half to two weeks) before washing it. I figured that was the norm.

Oooh how have i missed this thread

Question 1: Ketchup must go in the cupboard. Euurgh I don't want cold ketchup on my hot food

Question 2: I do alternate a lot but generally face away

Question 3: I don't wash my towels that regularly, but I have like 4 so they are rotation like every week. I don't have the dollar to wash them all the time. Kind of relevant but my friend hasn't washed her bedsheets all term, now that's nasty IMO

Oh dear, that sounds like me too

I only wash my bedding usually every two months, I think I managed three months once  ...this is just out of laziness and I figure no one else sleeps there and the first thing I do in the morning is have a shower.

Jim, I am repulsed

You shouldn't confess things like that! I used to be gross when I was younger - my Mum would have to FORCE my bed washing when I lived @ home. But I think washing your bedding once per week is sufficient. I definitely couldn't do it more than that [except in exceptional circumstances].

Its amazing what you learn about people on here! :P

Once, in the worst case twice. (that being seldom and definitely not in 2 consecutive days)

How do you find time to wash your laundry two to four times a week?

How do you NOT find time?

I watch TV/do my laundry; cook/do my laundry; browse the web/do my laundry.

I do loads of laundry!

+ 1

I imagine that most people who do laundry multiple times a week must live at home/have an in-unit washer/dryer? as someone who lives in an apartment complex where a few machines are shared among many units, I'd definitely feel like I was monopolizing the machines if I was using them every other day!

that said, even when I had in-unit machines, I didn't do laundry more than weekly: not only because we were paying for the water/power, but it just doesn't seem necessary.

^ That may be the reason why I'm not turned on by laundry!
My washing/drying machines aren't in my apartment or apartment complex. They are two blocks away, and I have to take a bag of clothing with me to go do it. And sometimes it's full.

I only just saw this thread...

Question 1: Sauce needs to be kept in the fridge so it doesn't spoil but it HAS to be at room temperature before it's used. Who wants cold sauce mixing with hot food and just messing things up?? :-?

Question 2: Face away....

Question 3: I go for at least a week and a half before changing my towel. Towels don't even get that dirty... I mean you only ever use them AFTER you've thouroughly washed yourself.

Maybe it's an Aussie thing, JimJim. Washing things so often seems like such a waste of water/electricity. Dryers are also such a waste of electricity as well, IMO.
