Me too.

É deprimente essa sucessão de hits brasileiros: Michel Teló, Gusttavo Lima, a dupla do "tchu tcha", etc.

I always dreamt of brazilian artists being sucessful worldwide... but not this type. This type of music should have died in Brazil like 10 years ago. I can understand that people in a country with low literacy rates like ours listen to this, but what´s wrong with Europe? Maybe they find it funny and exotic.

Maria Gadu had a big multi-week #1 hit in Italy last year with "Shimbalaie" too.

That's it, pretty much. Most don't care all that much about the lyrics, but it sounds happy and it reminds them of the summer, so they like it. It's the type of music blasting from cars with the windows down as soon as the sun shines. It's like they're hoping it will appease the Sun gods that favor Brazil but not us

I personally don't like it. It sounds just like the type of Dutch-language music a lot of people profess to dislike, but then in a different language (which suddenly makes them like it?).

Anyway, everyone's free to like whatever, of course! If it makes them happy, why not? : P

So disgusting how snobish some brazilians are about those songs. Granted, they aren't masterpieces but they're fun and easy to listen to, hence their success worldwide/in Brazil. Get off your high horses.

P.S.: Marisa Monte is overrated as hell.

I wonder how long it will take for the biggest Brazilian star of them all, Paula Fernandes, to make a European crossover.
