Since the album is going down everywhere, i think they should give it to everyone who's going to the shows, that way, people that bought the ticket to see her, because she's Madonna, but wouldn't buy the album, at least they would have a chance to know MDNA.

It might be best to just post Oricon, since it seems to confuse users every time they see the two charts. Soundscan Japan is really only useful to compare sales of separate versions, and since there's only one of MDNA I don't think it helps much ; )

I disagree. This is a chart forum so ALL official chart stats should be posted when available. Readers of this thread are meant to be interested and have a basic chart knowledge. If they don't, questions can always be asked. It's much more appropriate to talk about differences between various charts than between some other bubble gum popstars.

but MDNA is still at #2 on the MixUp English chart so hopefully it'll be in the Top 5.

I kinda agree with Nackar on this! The Japanese soundscan is not as relevant. It's not the same as the US soundscan. It doesn't include all sales/has much less coverage than the Oricon Chart. And as Nackar said, it's only nice to see the ratio of albums sold between seperate versions.

But to discount the album a month after its release is not a strategy a company should be thinking of if they want to make money

The way I understand it: Interscope has being paid to distribute the album, regardless if it sells 1, 5 or 10.000 copies, so they do not need to worry. Probably LiveNation gives them an incentive if sales exceed certain level, but in any case they should be able to recover any losses with the tour.
