Movies made from the 90's are better than today's movies. 8-)

Well, this is the Unpopular Opinions thread... you do know she is a generation behind Whitney, Celine and Mariah?
"Take A Bow"... Rihanna's ONLY ballad to go #1 on the Hot 100 (also topped the R&B Chart)... Great deed for her most epic ballad!!!

I don't see how Christina is a generation behind Mariah as she is only 10 years younger.

I was taught that twenty years was a generation, from when the child is born until he is considered an adult (rounded, of course).

Yes, Christina could technically not be Mariah's child.

The same

I think 10 years can be referred to as a generation in the music industry

NASA sent men to the moon.

Terrorists hi-jacked planes and flew them into the world trade center.

Lee Harvey Oswald was a nut job who shot John F. Kennedy.

Not that sexy for a lot of people, but that's what happened. There was no government conspiracy or anything happening behind any of those. People believe what they want and need to feel like their something happening behind stuff they don't understand. They are merely people trying to find meaning and patterns to stuff that's just not. Their arguments for their postions have been crushed time and time again. There are all deluded and simply wrong.

Maybe it's age and perspective, but todays children's programming is dumbed down to not offend two year olds compared to what we had as kids. The other night I was in a childhood nostalgic mode and I watched some You Can't Do That On Television clips on YouTube (Nickelodeon show from the 80's, basically think SNL with kids, Alanis Morissette is easily their most famous alumni) and that show is practically South Park compared to the crap that Disney and Nick airs now. They had an episode about safe sex and discussed drug use... imagine that on Nick today?

I don't know if I'd say that is an unpopular opinion, I know a lot of people joke about it, but I agree that it did happen. I read a whole report by a famous scientist here (Dr. Carl) and he explained why it had to be authentic and I'm inclined to believe him. I think the only reason people are so suspicious is simply the fact that we haven't gone back since and technology has advanced so far since then.

As for the WTC, one of my friends is convinced that it was a conspiracy and that the government was behind it after watching some documentary

Zeitgeist is so annoying. I saw it a few years back when I was in High School, and you really can only take a few bits of it, the rest of it is so pointless and open ended, you end the video with a big "So what the hell can I do about all this!"

In my college class there was a student that did a long drawn out speech about how are money system is made up, I knew it was taken from Zeitgeist, but the rest of the class didn't.

They we're pretty much angry at him, because the information isn't for people who do not want to know it. Plus, don't tell me all this B.S. and offer no solution. At the end of the day, I need to spend the money :)

OK on NASA, I tend to agree with you although there are serious doubts. Most people raise questions because of dubious footage, major incentives for the US to lie in such a major way and science which can hardly be understood easily so basically anyone can claim whatever they like in documentaries believably.

On WTC I agree on certain conditions. Al Qaeda is a terrorist group and it was a terrorist act. On the other hand American foreign policy acts just as a terrorist organization would act most of the time and they had to see it coming sooner or later in one form or another. So there was a major failure of intelligence to blame as well. Also it has to be said that after WTC, the US acted as a terrorist organization in a major way (the Iraq invasion was a terrorist act of much bigger magnitude than WTC, so is Guantanamo Bay which still goes on, the extraordinary renditions and the normalization of the use of torture in the Western world). Moreover, I do not believe for a second that Osama Bin Laden died at the time the US claims, I believe that he died much earlier and his death was kept a secret for obvious reasons (continuation of wars, existence of an enemy so the government can get away with things etc).

Also I do not agree with you on JFK. I think it's pretty improbable a nutcase acting alone would be able to just kill a president of the United States. Someone had to be backing him and that someone had to be acting based on some sort of logical plan

I really love my country and I enjoy living here but the United States of America is one of the most triflin nations that has ever graced the face of the planet.

I'm sorry but it's true...

So when it comes to NASA, I really believe that men were on the moon. But I totally understand why people don't believe that...makes sense.

As for the 9/11 WTC...well...I'm with Jio.

Al Qaeda is a well-known terrorist organization and hijacking airplanes and having them crash into very important American establishments is a terrorist act...

...but the United States practically created Al Qaeda and since you reap what you sow...yeah. You could say that something like that was bound to happen.

But the US not only has worked with terrorist organizations before but they (once again) had the incentive to collaborate with the terrorists to spark a needless (yet somewhat profitable) war and a semi-permanent presence in Iraq and Afghanistan.

And it should be noted that airplanes crashing into the World Trade Center would not cause it to collapse upon itself. And if they did cause it to collapse, it wouldn't of collapse the way that it did.

And on top of that, the events immediately after 9/11 were  :x :-? :o :-? :-?

There's no way that Lee Harvey Oswald was just a nutjob who shot JFK. There's no way he was working alone. No way.

It was way too perfect. Too clean. And there were multiple gunshots from different directions. No single bullet is going to penetrate a car seat and human flesh three times from a distance like that.

Not to mention that Lee Harvey Oswald was silenced by Jack Ruby just when it was thought that he was about to talk. Coincidentally, Jack Ruby was a seedy character himself.
I can feel this light that's inside of me, growing fast into a bolt of lightning. I know one spark will shock the world...
