I love "Love Scene (Oooh Baby)". Janet makes the best hoe-ish, sex you down songs ever.

With "Warmth" , I never heard a woman talking about doing something with her mouth (besides eating) and make it sound so sexy and somewhat classy.

She looks great.

Jimmy Jam said Janet was in the studio recording with Jimmy and Terry in 2009, but after MJ died, she didn't get back to recording and hasn't since.

Speaking of janet.

Is it me or is that album really schizophrenic?

It seems like her best and her worst songs ever are compiled all together...

I disagree it's the first ever album I bought where I listened and loved start to finish (apart from TWOTW.)

COMPLETELY AGREE!

Best:
That's The Way Love Goes
If
Anytime Anyplace
Because of Love (I don't care what people say, it's a pop gem)

Worst / Filler:
Throb (I LOVE it, but it's definitely filler)
What'll I Do (maybe my least favourite Janet song)
Funky Big Band (it's ok, but clearly filler)
New Agenda? (it's ok, but not important)
Where Are You Now (a poor man's 'Come Back To Me')
The Body That Loves You (it's kinda boring and seems like filler)

I don't like 'Again' or 'Whoops Now' either, but I know they're quite popular, especially with casual fans.

My ranking:
1. If (my favourite song in the whole wide world!) 10/10
2. Because of Love (in my top 5 Janet songs) 10/10
3. That's The Way Love Goes 10/10
4. Anytime Anyplace 9.5/10
5. Throb 9.5/10
6. You Want This 8.5/10

7. New Agenda 6.5/10
8. Funky Big Band 6/10
9. The Body That Loves You 4/10
10. Again 4/10
11. This Time 3.5/10
12. Whoops Now 3.5/10
13. Where Are You Now 3/10
14. What'll I Do 1.5/10

What'll I Do.

It has it's charm and I can listen to it sometimes but they should've created the music themselves.

Because that Rolling Stones sample that they used does not all that well...

^ Yes, totally! Playing Damita Jo today has completely put me in the mood for summer! A lot of it is really tranquil, and "Slolove" is a perfect chill-out dance song.

I agree. That is why of her four 80's/90's "classic" albums I rate it lowest, it just doesn't flow together as strong as RN and VR does.

This lack of doing anything is becoming too boring now.

What was it like growing up and watching Janet take over the world with Control and Rhythm Nation 1814?

I love the Janet. album. Only thing that was bad on that album was all those pointless interludes.

I found "janet." to be more quantity than quality. It makes a great listen when you take it as a whole unit, but I rarely find myself wanting to go back and play particular tracks. "Any Time, Any Place" and "That's The Way Love Goes" were brilliant ways to start/finish the album, and it's just the shame that the middle of it isn't nearly as strong.

In being cohesive, janet. is the weakest out of her classics her best in the 1980s and 1990s, but I don't really think it's a bad album. :)

'janet.' is definitely her least cohesive album, along with 'Discipline'.

'20 Y.O.' may not be her best work, but the thing that stood out for me straight away was just how well it flowed as a solid R&B album.
