We Are The World - EPIC
Exactly, Andreita!Andreita2994 wrote:Wow the way you make me feel is so low, earth song use to be my most played song, then tabloid junkie, speechless, now is bad. So I get what you say when you say it changes all the time
I didn't know about this song. Sounds really nice!GoodBoyGoneBad wrote:The song is Gotta Be There, I think the sample is really well used!NothingFails wrote:J. Lo heavily sampled I Wanna Be Where You Are on one track off the Brave album, I forgot the track title at the moment though.

Originally set to the be the first single off Akon's Freedom, it leaked out in 2008. I remember playing it heavily since then, so it's one of my most-played songs ever (#2 in my Last-FM).
I think it has a great message, but Akon's voice annoys me a bit - and mostly verses are sung by him. This and the fact that I overplayed this song makes me put it out the Top 50.
P.S.: Its artwork is quite interesting, since you can see two people holding hands; a big "M"; and/or a heart instead of hands.
This life don't last forever... This verse kills me.
45. Wanna Be Startin' Somethin' (1983)His first solo single as an adult, and the first of three Off The Wall singles in my ranking, 'Don't Stop 'til You Get Enough' is a timeless disco hit and, despite I don't listen to it a lot, I think it's an amazing song - and a must-have record for any clubber!

A must-have for any Michael Jackson tour!
The first time I listened to the "Vegetable Song" was through the official 'MJ MEGAREMIX' (HIStory Vol. II VCD exclusive bonus), which shows 'Smooth Criminal' video scenes while playing WBSS. I love it since then - and, unexpectedly, I think the video fits very well.
It's interesting how eclectic and extensive is MJ's catalogue. Many fans wouldn't rank "I Wanna Be Where You Are" even in their Top 100, others just love it!Play wrote:I Wanna Be Where You Are is in my top 10!![]()

Why Kevin

Another lovely song MJ wrote to alert people about peace and the environmental problems.
Never really was one of my favourites, so I never understood why this one was released as single, since Invincible has much better songs.
43. Ghosts (1997)People will probably complain about this one charting low... but I must say that, despite the fact it's an amazing and catchy song, I just can't listen to it several times at once.
Anyway, 'Black Or White' is one of the best things he ever done: not only for music or video graphics, but for its message! It's the ultimate pop anthem against racism!

A hidden treasure from Blood On The Dance Floor! And what amazing production!
It's one of my favourites songs, and I think it had potential to be a smash worldwide - unfortunately, it wasn't!
>> 'Ghosts' was released as 'Ghost Of Jealousy' in the Middle East.
P.S.: 'Ghosts' and 'Is It Scary' share most of their lyrics. You can find these following lyrics in both songs (but they sound totally different in each one): There's a ghost down in the hall / There's a ghoul upon the bed / There's something in the walls (...) / There's a tappin in the floor / There's a creak behind the door / There's a rocking in the chair / But nobody's sitting there / There's a ghostly smell around / But nobody to be found / And a coughin' and a yawnin' / Where a restless soul is going.
This countdown is getting controversial!Wardo wrote:Ok, Kevin, so let's talk about how low are Don't Stop 'til You Get Enough and Black or White
Keep on bringing us more shocking positions! hahaha
Well, I like it too. It's just out the Top 50.Wardo wrote:I also like Hold My Hand, but in this opinion I guess I'm alone...
You're absolutely right, NF! I can't at those countdowns that only focus on his 70's and 80's works, 'cause we all know how media started to damage his image after that and, despite he created SEVERAL great works in 90's and 00's, this erroneous impression is still - unfortunately - reflected in most rankings all over the internet.NothingFails wrote:Although I personally would rate The Way You Make Me Feel, Black Or White and Don't Stop higher, I actually like that its having a lot of shock exits and surprise singles instead of just being the typical status quo MJ countdown where everything post-91 would crash out in the 40's and the top 5 would be all Thriller tracks (don't get me wrong, Thriller is easily one of the greatest albums ever, but it'd be so predictable if the top 5 were all classics from that album lol).
Thanks, biscuits!biscuits wrote:Black or White - ANOTHER big hit which I'm not a big fan of! I like your chart so far Kevin
That would be great! - But wait my countdown be finished before you start yours, please!biscuits wrote:I'm inspired to do an MJ chart of my own once my Madonna chart finishes.
I know MJ was such a towering defining figure of the 1980's, but its hard to believe how dismissive people have been of the latter work just because of Thriller. Even to an extent I've seen people dismiss Bad. On another forum not long ago, I saw someone (this guy is a 50-something obsessed with The Beatles and Woodstock who hates pop mind you, he claims that Madonna was a tool sent to "destroy" rock music if that means anything) who posted about how Dangerous was the reason why grunge had to happen in 1991-1992. There were a lot of reasons why grunge needed to happen, but Dangerous wasn't one of them. That album pretty much defined r&b in the first half of that decade.KevinScream wrote:You're absolutely right, NF! That said, there are lots of surprises coming!
