My recommended songs: Wild Man, Snowed In At Wheeler Street, An Endless Sky Of Honey

-> If you want weird experimental stuff, try her first four albums (The Kick Inside, Lionheart, Never For Ever, The Dreaming).
My recommended songs: Wuthering Heights, Hammer Horror, Suspended in Gaffa

-> If you want pop songs, try her middle three albums (Hounds Of Love, The Sensual World, The Red Shoes).
My recommended songs: Deeper Understanding, And So Is Love, Eat the Music, Hounds of Love

I usually start with a compilation... so, the first Kate Bush album I listened to was "The Whole Story", about 4 years ago. Such amazing experience! :P

true, The Whole Story is great. Although since it ends in 1986, it doesn't really tell "The Whole Story" haha.

I personally started with Aerial and found that to be pretty accessible and I loved it.

Cloudbusting? Seems you don't like it much? Maybe you should try another album. Try The Red Shoes next. I think it is my fave for a long time. Most of her songs need more than one listen to kick in. If you want instant success, listen to Wuthering Heights (from her first album) - I'm sure you know it already though? If yes, try Eat The Music.
No, it's not me.

The album got better from track 6 till the end...but sometimes i got the feeling the album was trying to be more then it really was...if you know what i mean, lol.

You can tell it's one of those concept albums from the 80's with random stuff going on...sometimes it works...sometimes it doesn't. But i enjoyed it overall...will give it another listen later :D

OK...i'll try that one next

True. Wuthering Heights is probably her catchiest song. The rest of her music needs a bit more time..

Not liking Hounds Of Love!? Well, it's your opinion of course! :) The album is huge. Very simple. Sublime. One of the best ever recorded. The Dreaming is my favourite Kate Bush album. But it's extremely ambitious. Good luck!

So it sounds like you prefer the Ninth Wave half of the album instead of the more commercial first half.

yeah...i love Running Up That Hill from the first half...but the 2nd half was much better IMO...and on first listen only! I was expecting her trademark voice much more on this album also...but i enjoyed listening to this register in her voice! She's very "versatile" (badly written i know xD) imo!

I'm not sure what kind of music you usually listen to TiagoRodrigues, if you are switching from something completely different then you might need time to like her. Kate isn't always an immediate artist, you will need time to appreciate her more I reckon, just throw yourself in there mate. ;) :P

I am washing clothes today for the first time in my life. Gonna pop some popcorn and watch how the clothes embrace eachother while I listen to Mrs. Bartolozzi!
