Holy catalog albums- the first three albums appear on Top Catalog Albums this week. :wow:

Top 200 Catalog Albums- 5/12/12 Chart
Like a Virgin: No. 56*, 2,300 units (+106%); 599,563 cume
True Blue: No. 95*, 1,977 units (+580%); 424,671 cume
Madonna: No. 139*, 1,652 units (+125%); 487,967 cume

Catalog Digital Albums- 5/12/12 Chart
True Blue: 125-17*, 1,490 units (+108%); 17,206 cume
Like a Virgin: No. 19*, 1,325 units; 20,060 cume
Madonna: No. 41*, 1,033 units; 27,383 cume[/b]
There´s no surprise in here!
"Like a Virgin" IS Madonna here in the US!
Everytime someone reffers to her is almost always:"The Like a Virgin singer" or "the Material Girl".
It´s really sad that in so many ways it feels as if she was frozen in the 80´s to the great part of the americans...
So different from the rest of the world!

An interesting fact that not many people know...Miles Away sold more copies worldwide then Give It 2 Me...all because Miles Away sold 900.000 copies in Japan alone

It was used in a TV show...the song even hit #1 on itunes there around that time. Hard Candy was also #1 on the overall Japanese chart for 2 WEEKS! something that's very rare for an international act :D

I decided to talk about this because it's one of those forgotten chart-related facts about Madonna

yes, it was number one on iTunes Japan before being released as single. Thanks to "Change"
It became the best-selling digital single of 2008 in Japan and won three trophies at the 23rd Japan Gold Disc Awards

They should have done the same thing for "Masterpiece". The most important thing that international acts need to do in Japan is A - promotion, or B - major TV exposure for one of their songs.

Ryan Murphy said that a second episode was in the works a couple of months after the first one aired. It'll probably come in the Fall season.

Double Platinum for Truetones (500K)
Platinum for Mastertones (250K)
Gold for PC Digital Downloads (100K)

=

850K in total digital certifications. It definitely must be over 900K alone in Japan.

The numbers above sound right. I don't think it sold more than 1.2 million but it did go top 20 in a few European countries.

Missed top 10 by one spot. :x I recall it hitting #1 on the German airplay chart and it also did really well on European radio overall.

Thank you for that!! I imagine 4 minutes has passed the 3 million mark by now considering it was last updated in 2010 with over 2.8 million sold. Remember for a long time it was 69cents on iTunes, including during Superbowl time.

Yes It has definitely surpassed 3 million by now! I had it at 2.996k in my latest estimations updated some weeks ago. According to my calculations, it's still selling about 1,6k per week, so yes, definitely over 3 million.
