Tracklist looks amazing

The cover is OK
But the single covers have been better, and it should've been in line with them.

Climax:

Hot 100: 18 (20)
Radio Songs: 16 (16)
Digital Songs: 30 (33)
R&B/Hip Hop: 1 (1) (3 weeks at top)
Hot Dance/Club: 39 (debut)

Still going strong! Don't see it cracking the top 10 cuz of the stupid new rules of Billboard with Streaming though... The top 10 is static as ever.

Scream:

Hot 100: 70 (debut)
Pop Songs: 32 (debut)

Usher: 'Electronic Music Has Given Me a New Story'

Usher takes the cover of Billboard‘s latest issue, on newsstands May 7.

Here’s what the 33-year-old singer had to share with the mag:

On his new sound: “Electronic music has given me a new story, a new opportunity to build something I think a mass audience will understand.”

On debuting “Climax” on Twitter: “I really wanted to offer the greatest courtesy to my fans first—they are ultimately who brought me to this point, and I want to make sure they understand my journey. Twitter is kind of like my outboard communication, one of the places I’ve chosen to speak directly to my fans.”

On his new album, Looking for Myself, out June 12: “The cool thing about Diplo and the thing that made me want to work with him is that you can’t put him in a specific category or a box. He does everything. That represents what this album is. This album doesn’t fit into a specific box. It is an all-world experience that gives you a multitude of genres, a multitude of experiences: electric soul, revolutionary pop, classic, new tradition, dance, tech. And it brings me to more of a relevant place.”

So basically Usher has turned his back on R&B music....?

But didn't you read the article?

The underlying subtext was "R&B is dead and unprofitable. Electronica is the way to go now."

But 2/3 of his singles are R&B? I highly dought those are only going to be the only R&B songs on his album. But I respect him for not fully abandoning it for a full pop album. R&B music just ain't really bringing in the coins at the moment, which sucks because I love R&B music. It hasn't for a while. But at least he is trying to incorporate his roots while somewhat selling out.

He didn't say he was going to forget R&B music and focus on pop/electronic music. I think that he wants to bring a new sound, just to give it a try but that doesn't mean he's going to turn his back on urban music. After all, all his oldest fans definitely know him as one of the greatest R&B artist.
Climax is a bit electronic with R&B elements. The only true urban song for the moment is " Lemme See ". :P

I saw it the same way as Titan did, he has decided to do the "in" thing to get more money. ;)

:o Everything is just so amazing from Usher this time around!

and have to say i am somewhat disappointed with the album cover, the singles have been great, the font, pics and now we have a chris brown mixtape.. Still its all about the music and if everything is just as good as Climax, Scream and Lemme See then i will defo have to buy this 8-) :P

Very bittersweet.

His album sales will probably suffer for it too...

Yeah...you're right. I should be patient and wait until I hear the whole thing...
