Nice to see DFAU remix at 47 because I know who much you hate the original <3

Do You Think of Me - "When the nights are dark and cold..." Wonderful!

That Heartbreak remix is fabulous. 8-)

I Still Believe is classic here. She is beautiful in the video.

One Sweet Day is nice <3

Lead The Way - I'm a bit sad it only could make it to #42 but I1m here for lots of Glitter tracks <3 The more the better 8-)

The Morales Remix of Always Be My Baby is so underrated! Im so happy to see this here! 8-)

I Still Believe is phenomenal. Much better than the original Brenda K. Starr version.

One Sweet Day is overrated as well.. but I have to agree that it is a great duet, probably ranks in the top 20 best duets of all-time.

Lead The Way is perfect. The highlight of Glitter along with Never Too Far. It'll be higher on my countdown for sure.

Always Be My Baby remix is good, but it is nothing compared to the original.

there's only 1 song left which didn't make it on the original glitter album.

Side Effects is amazing. So honest. The song is going hard one of the bests moments on an incredible album.

H.A.T.E. U. Im waiting for the 3D smash but it's still one of my favs on Memoirs...

Imperfect - Yes gurl bring it on. So dark! Should've been on the album.

I Want To Know What Love Is - <3

I Still Believe remix - Fabulous

One Child - so '90s though doesnt belong to my favs on MCIIY

Migrate - The forgotten hit

"Don't Forget About Us", "H.A.T.E.U.", "Migrate", and "I Still Believe" are good but "One Sweet Day", "Lead The Way", "Always Be My Baby", and "I Want To Know What Love Is" are stellar. :)

Side Effects is decent, one of the better album-tracks off E=MC^2. I hope For The Record is higher

H.A.T.E.U. is one of the highlights of Memoirs of an Impefect Angel. "I Want To Know What Love Is" >>>> this though as the best ballad from that album.

I Want To Know What Love Is is the best track off that subpar album and is one of her best covers. I'd even say it's better than the original. Sad it flopped as a single.

I Still Believe/Pure Imagination is one of her best remixes ever, and one of the best remixes of all-time. It's such an amazing remix and at times I find this even better than the original version of I Still Believe.

One Child is the best song off MCIIU, no doubt about it. I just love her vocals and the choir in this song. IMO it's one of the modern Christmas classics.

Migrate is the most forgotten song of her discography by far. I know how everyone was praying it would become an official single too, and I was one of them. It has such a hot vibe that could have been a #1 hit for Mariah, and continue the momentum for the album after Touch My Body.

although I may not be on board with a lot of your rankings, it's definitely interesting to see a Mariah countdown with so many remixes making the cut! shows how well you really know every inch of her amazing catalog. <3

speaking of remixes, "Heartbreaker/If You Should Ever Be Lonely" is great...but not as great as the original. ;)

"One Sweet Day" is definitely too low! the song's messsage is beautiful enough...but when you add the beauty of Mariah and Boyz II Men in harmony together, the result is pretty epic. it would definitely make my Top 20.

"Lead The Way" = gorrrgeous! my favorite Glitter ballad.

"Side Effects" = definitely one of the highlights of E=MC2, really should've been a single!

"H.A.T.E.U." = speaking of highlights, this is definitely one of the highlights of Memoirs. such a shame that Mariah had to film one of her most embarassing videos to promote it.

"Migrate" = personally, I hate this song, I think it's an embarassing mess...but I realize that US radio in 2008 would've eaten this up, so I agree with all the fans who think this should've been a single. there's no doubt it would've smashed hard.

Great idea to do such a countdown.
Mariah Carey is not my cup of tea (only own E=MC²), but I could do it for Madonna... Or of course some other artists!

Maybe you can "verschönern" it a bit by adding the singles covers (or album covers for album-only tracks) and give some information or a personal "Rezension"...

the top 20 will get special treatment. 8-) Madonna is actually the next artist, I'll do a countdown of.

"My Saving Grace", "Till The End of Time", "Sent From Up Above", "Honey", and "It's Like That" are all great.

"Can't Take That Away (Mariah's Theme)", "Vision of Love", "For The Record", "When You Believe", and "Thank God I Found You" are phenomenal! :D

#20 I wish you Well
Image
Code: Select all
I wish you well is easily one of the greatest tracks she recorded in the 00's. The song truely carried me to heaven and was a monster hit on my chart in 2008. Together with My Saving Grace and Fly Like a Bird it forms the gospel trinity.

#19 Thank God I Found You (Make It last Remix)
Image
Code: Select all
The video to this brilliant remix was shot in a club not far away from where I live now. It's too crazy to think about it, when I pass it on my night-outs. The song is a trademark R&B monster with a melody most artists could only dream of. Without this remix, Thank God I Found You would have never hit #1 on the Hot 100.

#18 Anytime you Need a friend (C&C Extended Club Mix)
Image
Code: Select all
Mariah Carey truely is the queen of dance remixes. Many people don't give her enough credit for changing the vocals and melodies and re-do the whole song. The video to this version is also amazing and re-freshing because for the first time in her career, she let's her fans see the fun side of being Mariah Carey. I cannot tell you, how many times I tried to iron my hair. Unforgotten is the inclusion of the dance version on her Daydream Tour in Tokyo in 1996.

#17 We Belong Together
Image
Code: Select all
The competition gets stronger and stronger. We Belong Together is one of the longest running #1 singles on my personal chart and still holds the record for most spins in 1 week. The song brought her back to the game and sparks what would become the biggest comeback of a mainstream (R&B) artist in 2005. The amazing production of the background vocals contributes to the song's hypnotizing effects.

#16 Just To Hold you Once Again
Image
Code: Select all
Many people seem to forget about this song. I re-discovered it about 2 years ago and it found its place among my alltime favourite Mariah Carey songs. The climax transforms this ballad into a gospel firework. Only Mariah can combine two genres in one take. Music Box is full of surprises. You just have to take some time and discover them one by one.

#19 Thank God I Found You (Make It last Remix) - I like it - much better than the original.

Because 'Fly Like a Bird' is my #1 Mariah song, the fans always tell me that I will like 'I Wish You Well'. But I think it is extremely underwhelming and cannot even be compared to the magnificent 'Fly Like a Bird'.
