Good to know I´ve re - discovered "Live To Tell " ! IMO , it´s her best ballad!

Her ballads are very powerful. Suits her well. American Life is packed with amazing ballads/lyrics with that acoustic feeling.

the ballads are something I've really missed. Its a main reason why I like stuff like Love Spent, Best Friend and Falling Free on MDNA

I agree with you 100% , but are you talking about "Love Spent" accoustic version? Because I don´t consider the main a version a ballad (it´s my favorite song of the entire album though!)

I agree LS and FF too for me are the best moment on the album.

Yes you're right.....

I tend to divide the album in 2 parts very different to each other.

The dance-esque part....IA and SG rules there.

And a more "Dark" part whereas LS, BK, and FF represents for me the top moments.

You are right as well . Indeed that´s the only way we can find cohesiveness on MDNA. I always think of it as two different albums that were put together into one.

That´s the song that made me fall in love with her in 86 :D it's still one of my top favourites

BTW, now I´m really into "I **** UP".
I always thought she was so over her divorce and it was part of the past .But since she released the album I realise it´s not how she feels... indeed I see that it has left huge emotional wounds on her.
Everytime i hear she singing "Yeah I´m Love Spent" I think it´s so deep and one of the strongest things one could say ...
And in "I **** Up" she describes every single step of this failed marriage and her expectations about what it could´ve become!
It´s a very powerful track!

I agree about feeling that there were 2 sides to it, I wished she capitalized on that! Only someone who listened to the album a lot could get that feel! :D :D

So true. MDNA is indeed a powerful, personal album...an emotional journey in M last 4 years life from divorce and on.
That's the reason why I go mad when I see people put shit on it judging all based on its first couple of singles :-?

They covered I'll Remember on Glee!!! :o

One of my favourite Madonna singles ever (and one of her many forgotten hits).

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Day_Nim_ ... e=youtu.be

It's included in the album "The music Glee: The Graduation Album".

Just speaking of her best ballads: I'll Remember is definitely one of them.

And it's true, it's arguably one of her most forgotten ones

Love Spent has surpassed I'm Addicted as my favorite song from the album. I love the the last minute and a half.

If you don´t mind getting spoiled there's a version of love spent from the tour, on the tour thread! I don't know if it's fake.

If I were Madonna, I would make an intimate set in her repertoire to honor her ballads. "I'll Remember", "Take a Bow", "Live to Tell", "Crazy for You", "You'll See" and "One More Chance" are some of the few that showcase her softer side. :D :D

I love all her ballads but I don't seem to connect with Masterpiece and Falling Free! Maybe when I see her singing live...
