How important is money in your life and relationship?

If I was rich and I could buy anything I wanted at any time, I think I would value these things less.

I personally have to work hard for the things I get and when I finally get them I feel accomplished and I treasure them.

Me too. More so in life than a relationship though, but maybe because I'm inexperienced in regards to relationships...although I have seen how it can affect a relationship.

Money definitely puts strain on people and their relationships. And if money the main cause for the relationship to break up, then I'd question the moral and ethic of the people in that relationship. They've definitely put too much emphasis on money making them and their relationship happy. And probably got materialistic too. And maybe even lived beyond their means?

Thank you very much. I knew someone'd take my words and paint me as shallow and materialistic, but I'm just a realist, plain and simple. Say you get into a relationship with someone, you're wanting to go out on dates, you're wanting to spend time with them, and they have no money. What are you going to do then, sex 24/7? I am a banker so, of course I love money. There are few things more enjoyable than driving around town in a nice convertible car, sipping champagne in a nice club in Chelsea with some wannabe models or watching a football game from a corporate box.
But then, money does not matter and you can have a life just as fulfilling watching re-runs of Big Brother and listening to GaGa's album over and over again, naturally

Problem is... Most people cannot and don't know how to handle money and the baggage (fake new friends, long lost family, etc) that it comes with!!!

Yeah I agree, and I've had problems in the past where lack of money has caused a bit of friction in a relationship because the other person likes living rather lavishly :lol:
