But again, you're a great friend for even being so openly concerned about him.
Agreed with Akini. That's about the best advice I can offer to you Col.

Thanks for the comments (and unexpected compliments -- I honestly wasn't fishing for any!), guys.

The thing is, it had a major effect on the person - socially, mentally, and even physically. This individual lost a working degree that he/she worked five years for (not including the years spent in school); thus he/she became jobless and without a weekly wage; he/she lost all of his/her friends but me, only to feel 'comfort' as a social recluse; he/she had to move back to his/her parents' home and give up a very stable settlement, losing the independence of owning an apartment; as well as losing material things and all savings, his/her mentality and sense of optimism changed completely, living with a feeling of dread for each tomorrow.

I can honestly understand why the person was so broken internally, and it took so much convincing and motivating for any slight change to happen. At this point, there was already a bunch of years of professional help, taking visits to various psychologists on a weekly basis. My point is, I guess, that he/she could break down some barriers and, finally, feel a sense of happiness again; that is, until the past few days. I am now so far away from this person, which means that there are limits by which I can help, so I am naturally very concerned for their well-being and what their next course of action will actually be.

The worst thing is, this person had achieved so much by working so much harder than everyone else, only to lose everything in a single moment of error. I wish I knew what I could say now that would be of some assistance, but I really do not know what to say. I just want to say something to the new 'friends', just before they turn their back on him/her completely, but it is not like anyone can actually *force* friendships to exist.

I wish I (or someone) had an answer for this, but I cannot see one.

I read that yesterday - apparently, his wife has hired the same lawyer as Hulk Hogan's ex wife.

Cena had better be prepared to surrender half of his $15m fortune.

Col, only advise I have is that we as human beings should be more forgiving and less judgemental on others. We all make mistakes in different ways and forms. And I believe that everyone deserves a second chance.

If you are friends again and they make the same mistake again, then you can walk away knowing you gave them a fair chance, and a second chance too!!!!

We are not perfect, so what gives us the right to judge others mistakes?

Good luck with your decision. I speak from recent experience about being judged, humiliated and degraded. I will not make that mistake on others. Learn from others issues and mistakes. We all don't have to make the same mistakes in order to learn!

My heart bleeds reading this. To lose everything; material and immaterial!!!!
People think I'm crazy but in decent months, ie been preaching about the fact that if we have a roof over our head or a plate of food on the table, that it is a luxury!!!! This friend of yours is living proof that what I am saying makes sense!!!

Luckily for John, they signed a pre-nup. So it shouldn't be as bad as it would be.

He was the one who filed for it, and there's rumours she cheated on him. She's stupid if she did IMO

Yeah, I read that he signed a pre nup too.

However, Cena has apparently offered her a financial settlement - in spite of the pre nup - which infers that he's trying to hide something [be it on his part, or hers].

Either that or he doesn't want to deal with all the court drama and just wants to get on with his life. Give her money (which is obviously what she wants if she's hiring a high profile lawyer) and get it over with.

It's amazing though that you read this, as there's been no indication that John is going through this, he's a professional and hasn't spoke out about it, even if she did cheat on him. Respect :D

Well its pretty big in the IWC, and has made a couple of mainstream news stories.

I think that this is just the beginning - its going to get very nasty.

I think like you said though, Cena doesn't want the drama - he's a good guy, and drama or admissions of personal stuff will only darken his image.

This is one of the cases when I don't know what to say. :( Reminds me of some situation in my past in which I wasn't very efficient. :(

I think that person needs professional help first of all. And if you're far away you can try to find time to communicate over internet. Like random 'Hello' + sending some interesting stuff so the person'll feel you're still present at his/her life. The situation is very sad, it'll take a lot of strength to come out of it depending on what's happened.

Not sure that happy ballads exists...or maybe I'm wrong? :P

Anyway, I don't think so... I mean, you don't atract Satan if you listen to Marlyn Manson, so I would say no.
