Was this Vol. 2 or another album called Hit Machine or was it a re-entry.

Thx

The 1981 album was a completely different album with hits from that year and appeared on the K-Tel label.

What is the difference between the original and the 88 version of the Flashdance album?

Or is this a re-entry in 88?

Now some other thing I'v found:

23 Februar 1980

72 Rainbow by Rainbow (here listed as Rainbow Rising) was a re-entry, not a new entry.

---

29 March 1980

73 Various Artists Club Ska '67 was a re-entry, not a new entry or? Why charted this 67-album in 1980?

---

A album called Night Moves by Various Artists from 1979 is listed at the 24 march 1984 charts and also a re-entry in september 84 - following by 10 weeks.

2 different albums, I think. BUT: What album was at #90 on the 24 march 1984 charts?

---

Clannad - Magical Ring was at re-entry on the 2nd june 1984 charts

--

The Greatest Hits album by Buddy holly charted at #100 on the 8th september 1984 charts was a re-entry

http://www.ukmix.org/forums/viewtopic.p ... start=5625

---

15.12.1984 87 Re-entry not a new-entry => Chas & Dave Chas 'n' Dave's Christmas Jamboree Bag

Or?

---

16.11.1985 62 New-entry not a re-entry => Various Artists The Love Album (1985 Version)

AND: The Beatles cd-releases 1987 are re-entries in my opinion.

Indi
It's a re-issue/re-entry, Casablanca stopped releasing new material in 1984 and it's back catalog was absorbed by PolyGram subsidiary label Mercury.

16th January 1988

93 (RE) Flashdance (OST) 31 wks <Mercury>

Indi wrote:23 February 1980

You're right it is re-entry, but it is "Rainbow Rising" not Rainbow

72 (RE) RAINBOW RISING (by Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow) 31 wks

Indi wrote:29 March 1980

Club Ska '67 is a New Entry in 1980, it never charted in 1967.
Ska music was very popular in 1979-1981 for bands like Madness, Specials, Selector etc.
The album that charted in 1967 for 2 weeks was "Club Ska '67 Vol. 2".

You're right it is 2 different album both on K-Tel but the one in 1984 is actually called
"Night Moves - The Romantic Sounds Of The City" but all magazines & papers at the time simply put it down as "Night Moves" but it is a different album.

Night Moves 1979 (K-Tel : NE 1065)
Blondie - Dreaming
Buggles - Video Killed The Radio Star
Sad Cafe - Every Day Hurts
Sister Sledge - Lost In Music

Judy Tzuke - Stay With Me 'Til Dawn
Noosha Fox - Skin Tight
Al Hudson & The Partners – You Can Do It
Dooleys - Wanted
Bombers - (Everybody) Get Dancin'
Spyro Gyra - Morning Dance
Madness - The Prince

24th March 1984

Another mistakes or questions. Some of them I could answer by myself and edit it:

3rd july 2004

35 Jim Reeves Gentleman Jim - Memories Are Made Of
was a re-entry, not a new-entry.

Oh. I found it out:

Jim Reeves 2003 Gentleman Jim - The Definitive COllection rca 82876530372
2004 Gentleman Jim - Memories Are Made Of THis rca 82876627842

---

29th january 2005

14 Thirteen Senses The Invitation

This was a re-entry, not a new-entry.

---
22th april 2006
6. (NE) ODYSSEY (By Hayley Westenra ) 1 Wk

This was a re-entry! First entry was on 8th october 2005
---

23th september 2006

56 Charlie Landsborough Heart And Soul

This was a re-entry, not a new-entry.

Sorry for that. Now I know it was a new-entry. I have listed the 2005 "My Heart Would Know" as "Heart And Soul"

---

28th april 2007

52 Original Cast Recording - Joseph And The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat

Is this the same album that charted in 1991 (start 31.08.1991) or a different one?

If I see in the VIrgin HIt Albums books than I see the same album number => The same album

---

26th january 2008

34 Neil Diamond The Essential

Is this the album that charted in 2002 (The Essential Collection) or has this albums 35 weeks outside the top100? Maybe you can post the chartrun here?

Both Times it's The Essential 5010662 => not Essential collection

---

31th may 2008

11 The Osmonds - The Very Best Of

Is this a 2008-album or is it a re-entry of the 96-album (first chart entry 20.04.1996)
???

ok. different one:

The Very Best Of 5270722 Polydor 1996

2008 => 9808355

---

The Stone Roses - The Stone Roses

Here I have 3 different version:

1. "Original" charted from 1989 to 2011
2. 10th Anniversary charted in 1999
3. 20th Anniversary charted in 2009

Is this correct or does the 20th edition charted in 2010 & 2011?

---

29th may 2010

1 The Rolling Stones Exile On Main St. - 2010 Re-Issue

For me it's a new entry because it's a new edition with a bonus disc. But then you have to split Adele's 19 or Leona Lewis Spirit album, too. Or what is the difference?

And why can we should say: EOMT by the Stones is here a re-entry?

Best regards
Indi

34 Neil Diamond The Essential

Is this the album that charted in 2002 (The Essential Collection) or has this albums 35 weeks outside the top100? Maybe you can post the chartrun here?

Both Times it's The Essential 5010662 => not Essential collection
The Essential Collection
16.03.2002: 11-18-32-26-51-68-86-92-85-102-125-188- xx-xx-xx-xx-124-63-42-43-49-62-74-98-127-172-xx-xx- xx-xx-xx-xx-xx-xx-xx-195-171-188-193-xx-196-199. <28wks>
14.02.2004: 196 <29wks>

By 2005 it now known as "The Essential", with same catalogue number & tracklistings.
11.06.2005: 135-158-160-xx-xx-xx-xx-xx-xx-xx-xx-173-178-199. <35wks>

Indi
Hanboo & Wikipedia UK Number 1 albums 2010s list puts it as a re-entry.

WOW!

A Great thank to your answers. I'm glad I could help.

And good to see that I don't have right all the time.

:D

I hope, Hanboo see this - so he can update his database, too.

One question you've forget:

The Stone Roses - The Stone Roses

Here I have 3 different version:

1. "Original" charted from 1989 to 2011
2. 10th Anniversary charted in 1999
3. 20th Anniversary charted in 2009

Is this correct or does the 20th edition charted in 2010 & 2011?

Best regards

so its a re-enry in 1997.
No it's a New Entry/re-issue, different label Polygram TV.

Hi Woz1234,

thx for your answers again.

No. I'm not from Chart Archive. I checked the data from there, my data and the lists from Sharon Mawer from her website with the data listed here in this thread.

Can you explain me why there was a complete false chartweek? Was a chartweek published to early?

Best regards
Indi from GErmany
